Efficient Synthesis of Substituted Cyclic α-Aminophosphonates

The addition of diethyl phosphite to cyclic imines bearing alkyl, aryl, or heteroaryl substituents at the α-position in diethyl ether at room temperature presents an efficient route to substituted cyclic α-aminophosphonates. The application of boron trifluoridediethyl ether complex as a catalyst significantly accelerates the reaction.

In order to find high-acitivity and low-toxicity pesticidal lead compounds, a type of novel, asymmetric cyclic phosphorothonamides containing substituted pyridine were synthesized via the condensation reactions of 2-chloro-4-substitutedphenyl-5,5-dimethyl-1,3,2-dioxaphosphinane 2-sulfide with 3-aminomethylpyridine.

Copolymerization of substituted tetrahydrofurans with some cyclic ethers

AbstractThe copolymerization of 2‐substituted tetrahydrofurans with some cyclic ethers was investigated using BF3 · (C2H5)2O as initiator. 2‐Methyltetrahydrofuran (MTHF), which homopolymerizes only with great difficulty, was found to copolymerize with such monomers as epichlorohydrin and 3,3‐bis(chloromethyl) oxacyclobutane (BCMO).

Asymmetric synthesis of 2-substituted cyclic amines

Cyanomethylenetributylphosphorane-mediated ring closure for the asymmetric synthesis of 2-substituted cyclic amines such as azetidines, pyrrolidines and a piperidine is reported. The desired stereochemistry at the 2-position was fixed using (S)-tert-butyl sulfinamide as a chiral auxiliary.

An Expeditious Synthesis of 1-Substituted and Cyclic Taurines

A series of 1-substituted taurines, including optically active taurines, were synthesized expeditiously from epoxides via episulfidation with potassium sulfocyanate, ring-opening with dibenzylamine, followed by oxidation with performic acid, and hydrogenolysis in the presence of palladium hydroxide on carbon powder.
