Results of the cyclic triaxial testing on mechanically–biologically treated waste

Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy
Accurate assessment of the dynamic strength characteristics of mechanically–biologically treated (MBT) waste is crucial for the construction and safe operation of landfill sites. Herein, samples of MBT waste from the Hangzhou Tianziling landfill were collected and subjected to consolidated undrained cyclic triaxial tests under four confinement levels ...

Experimental and numerical study on rockburst triggered by tangential weak cyclic dynamic disturbance under true triaxial conditions

Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, 2018
The excavation and/or dynamic disturbance induced critically stressed (stress close to the strength of the rocks) rocks near the excavation boundary of deep openings are highly unstable, and they may fail violently in the form of rockburst triggered by ...

Regression Models for Validating Cyclic Triaxial Test Results

Geotechnical Testing Journal, 2011
Abstract Cyclic triaxial tests are commonly used to evaluate a soil’s potential for liquefaction during seismic events. Following testing, it is necessary to evaluate the validity of the test results. This can be a difficult task unless the engineer has previously acquired a reasonable amount of experience with this type of testing.

Cyclic Triaxial Strain-Controlled Testing of Liquefiable Sands

1988
Two series of undrained cyclic triaxial strain-controlled tests were performed on two different Imperial Valley, California, silty sands which liquefied during an earthquake in 1981. Both intact and reconstituted specimens were tested, and the testing procedures are described.

Mechanical performance of recycled aggregates in cyclic triaxial testing

2017
In Belgium, more than 6,000 t of recycled concrete and masonry aggregates are produced every year, coming from civil engineering demolition works. They contain up to 50% of masonry. It is allowed to recycle them in road bases and subbases if they satisfy the requirements set in the standard specifications.

A Review of Factors Affecting Cyclic Triaxial Tests

1978
The effects of testing procedures and material characteristics on the cyclic triaxial strength of cohesionless soils were reviewed with the intent of categorizing the significance of these factors for cognizance in future testing standards. It was found that specimen preparation methods, differences between intact and reconstituted specimens, density ...
