Seasonal Drivers of Density in a Subarctic Population of Northern Red‐Backed Voles [PDF]

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Northern red‐backed voles (Clethrionomys rutilus) are an important species in the boreal forest ecosystem, both as herbivores and as a key food source for many mammalian and avian predators.

Impact of disease cyclicity on quality-of-life impairment—A mixed method explanatory studyCapsule Summary [PDF]

open access: yesJAAD International
Background: Disease cyclicity, a composite measure of unpredictable and daily fluctuations of symptoms, strongly predicts quality-of-life (QoL) impairment. Objective: To explore the mechanisms by which cyclicity impacts QoL.

Cyclic Sieving for cyclic codes [PDF]

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications, 2021
Prompted by a question of Jim Propp, this paper examines the cyclic sieving phenomenon (CSP) in certain cyclic codes. For example, it is shown that, among dual Hamming codes over $F_q$, the generating function for codedwords according to the major index statistic (resp. the inversion statistic) gives rise to a CSP when $q=2$ or $q=3$ (resp. when $q=2$).

Effects of Astronomical Cycles on Laminated Shales of the Paleogene Shahejie Formation in the Dongying Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, China

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Laminated shales are widely developed in the Dongying Sag and have attracted much attention as an oil reservoir. Macroscopically, these shales generally have multi-scale cyclicity, which is closely related to the development of laminae.

QUANTITATIVE ASPECTS OF THE CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS IN UKRAINE [PDF]

open access: yesAkademičnij Oglâd, 2021
The article attempts to quantify the main parameters that characterize the economic crisis in Ukraine. Historical and systemic approaches are used as a basis of research methodology.

Cyclic Matroids

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 2023
For all positive integers $s$ and $t$ exceeding one, a matroid $M$ on $n$ elements is {\em nearly $(s, t)$-cyclic} if there is a cyclic ordering $σ$ of its ground set such that every $s-1$ consecutive elements of $σ$ are contained in an $s$-element circuit and every $t-1$ consecutive elements of $σ$ are contained in a $t$-element cocircuit. In the case

Quasi-Cyclic Subcodes of Cyclic Codes [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 2017
We completely characterize possible indices of quasi-cyclic subcodes in a cyclic code for a very broad class of cyclic codes. We present enumeration results for quasi-cyclic subcodes of a fixed index and show that the problem of enumeration is equivalent to enumeration of certain vector subspaces in finite fields.

Cyclicity in de Branges–Rovnyak spaces

open access: yesMoroccan Journal of Pure and Applied Analysis, 2023
In this paper, we study the cyclicity problem with respect to the forward shift operator Sb acting on the de Branges–Rovnyak space ℋ (b) associated to a function b in the closed unit ball of H∞ and satisfying log(1− |b| ∈ L1(𝕋).

Retrospective of the Accounting Profession Development: A Civilizational Approach [PDF]

open access: yesОблік і фінанси, 2022
Over the last decade, several lists of professions that will disappear soon have been published. In this aspect, the rapid development and spread of innovation, and digitalization of management processes threaten the existence of the accounting ...

Non-Geometric Fluxes, Quasi-Hopf Twist Deformations and Nonassociative Quantum Mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We analyse the symmetries underlying nonassociative deformations of geometry in non-geometric R-flux compactifications which arise via T-duality from closed strings with constant geometric fluxes. Starting from the non-abelian Lie algebra of translations
