Annexin A13 Protects Against Acute Kidney Injury by Inactivating TGF‐β/Smad3 Signaling
ANXA13 is negatively regulated by Smad3 and exerts its protective role in AKI by inactivating TGF‐β/Smad3 signaling and Smad3‐p21 cell cycle arrest pathway through binding to TβRI, inhibiting the interaction between TβRI and TβRII, thereby suppressing TβRI phosporylation.

The cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p57(Kip2) is epigenetically regulated in carboplatin resistance and results in collateral sensitivity to the CDK inhibitor seliciclib in ovarian cancer [PDF]
Carboplatin remains a first-line agent in the management of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Unfortunately, platinum-resistant disease ultimately occurs in most patients.

Activation of Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 5 Mediates Orofacial Mechanical Hyperalgesia
Background Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) is a unique member of the serine/threonine kinase family. This kinase plays an important role in neuronal development, and deregulation of its activity leads to neurodegenerative disorders. Cdk5 also serves an important function in the regulation of nociceptive signaling.

Bufalin Inhibits the PI3K/AKT Pathway by Targeting GTF3C4 to Impede Breast Cancer Progression
Mechanisms of Bufalin‐Mediated Intervention in Breast Cancer. ABSTRACT Breast cancer incidence is rising globally, presenting challenges such as treatment side effects and drug resistance. Bufalin is a bufadienolides compound with potential anti‐cancer effects. This study shows that bufalin inhibits malignant proliferation of MDA‐MB‐231 and MCF‐7 cells

DNA damage stress: Cui prodest? [PDF]
DNA is an entity shielded by mechanisms that maintain genomic stability and are essential for living cells; however, DNA is constantly subject to assaults from the environment throughout the cellular life span, making the genome susceptible to mutation ...

DEL‐1 is an Endogenous Senolytic Protein that Inhibits Senescence‐Associated Bone Loss
Senescent bone marrow stromal cells accumulate in the aging bone microenvironment, promoting bone degeneration. DEL‐1, an endogenous secreted protein, acts as a natural senolytic that selectively eliminates these cells. By engaging a β3 integrin/CD73/adenosine/p38 MAPK/BCL‐2 pathway, DEL‐1 counters aging‐related bone loss, revealing promising ...

CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.

Mutant p53 establishes targetable tumor dependency by promoting unscheduled replication [PDF]
Gain-of-function (GOF) p53 mutations are observed frequently in most intractable human cancers and establish dependency for tumor maintenance and progression.

CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.
