Cycling stability of D-mannitol when used as phase change material for thermal storage applications [PDF]
S.134-143d-Mannitol is a potential phase change material to store thermal energy for process heat applications between 120 °C and 200 °C. This study presents thermal cycling stability tests of d-mannitol and its effect on melting enthalpy ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Functional fatigue in NiTi shape memory alloy wires - A comparative study [PDF]
The functional fatigue behaviour of two near equi-atomic NiTi shape memory alloy wires obtained from different sources were evaluated. Results showed that though the wires had similar transformation temperatures and mechanical properties, their ...

Revisiting the cycling stability of ferrocyanide in alkaline media for redox flow batteries [PDF]
In the quest for searching for new redox-flow battery chemistries, cycling stability must be carefully evaluated since it is one of the most important parameters of new active species.

Boosting Cycling Stability of Polymer Sodium Battery by “Rigid-Flexible” Coupled Interfacial Stress Modulation [PDF]
The discontinuous interfacial contact of solid-state polymer metal batteries is due to the stress changes in the electrode structure during cycling, resulting in poor ion transport. Herein, a rigid-flexible coupled interface stress modulation strategy is

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Stability study of thermal cycling on organic solar cells [PDF]
We present a side-by-side comparison of the stability of three different types of benchmark solution-processed organic solar cells (OSCs), subject to thermal cycling stress conditions.

Mitigating Twin Boundary-Induced Cracking for Enhanced Cycling Stability of Layered Cathodes [PDF]
Twin boundaries (TBs) as a common defect in layered cathodes play multiple roles in affecting materials’ performance, which requires a deep understanding and an effective regulation method to realize rational design of superior layered cathodes.

Stability of Transversal Hamilton Cycles and Paths
Given graphs $G_1,\ldots,G_s$ all on a common vertex set and a graph $H$ with $e(H) = s$, a copy of $H$ is transversal or rainbow if it contains one edge from each $G_i$. We establish a stability result for transversal Hamilton cycles: the minimum degree required to guarantee a transversal Hamilton cycle can be lowered as long as the graph collection ...
