International Review of Psychiatry, 2005
This article reviews the concept, nosological status, diagnostic features, associated clinical characteristics, and the etiopathological variables involved in cycloid psychosis. The concept of cycloid psychosis is based on sound psychopathological and course underpinnings, and despite the inclusion of some cycloid features in the current diagnostic ...

Epidemiology of Cycloid Psychosis
Psychopathology, 1990The incidence and risk of cycloid psychosis were investigated in the 1947 cohort of the Lundby Study. No male cases were found. For women the incidence rate (per 100 observation years) was 0.016%. The cumulative probability, i.e. risk up to 60 years of age, was 0.7%.

A cycloid model for the chromosome
Journal of Cell Science, 1967ABSTRACT Investigations of lampbrush chromosomes and the nucleolar organizer have suggested that each gene may be duplicated many times in consecutive linear series within one DNA molecule. This conclusion is in direct conflict with recombination data which indicate, not only that each gene is represented only once per chromatid, but ...

The Cycloid Permanent Magnetic Gear
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2006This paper presents a new permanent-magnet gear based on the cycloid gearing principle. which normally is characterized by an extreme torque density and a very high gearing ratio. An initial design of the proposed magnetic gear was designed, analyzed, and optimized with an analytical model regarding torque density.

The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 1982
The concept of “a motility psychosis” was introduced by Wernicke at the turn of the century in opposition to Kraepelin's “two entities principle.” The term cycloid psychosis was utilized by Kleist in 1926 for this group, which was further subdivided into “anxiety-elation,” “confusion,” and “motility” psychoses by Leonhard.
