Psychotic syndromes of cycloid psychoses have been described by both WIRNICKE (1900) and KLEIST (1928). My concept of these disorders is somewhat different. For WERNICKE anxiety-happiness psychosis appears in two separate forms: anxiety psychosis on the one hand, and “expansive autopsychosis with autochthonous ideas ”on the other.

A point on a moving curve which rolls without slipping on another fixed one generates a rolling curve. When the moving curve is the circumference of a circle and the fixed one a straight line, the rolling curve is a cycloid. This paper attempts to show that if we substitute an ellipse or a hyperbola for the circumference of a circle, and a given ...

Cycloid psychoses constitute an original classification originally proposed by Leonhard and comprising clinical pictures intermediate between schizophrenic psychoses and bipolar disorders. The exact situation of these disorders in psychiatric classifications has been the subject of debate, and their existence is still questioned.

The present work describes resonant soft X-Ray scattering (RSXS) as a probe to investigate complex ordering phenomena in oxide materials. RSXS allows to probe in an elementspecific way the 3d- and 4f-valence electrons that are responsible for the interesting physical characteristics of these materials.
