The Cycloid Permanent Magnetic Gear

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2006
This paper presents a new permanent-magnet gear based on the cycloid gearing principle. which normally is characterized by an extreme torque density and a very high gearing ratio. An initial design of the proposed magnetic gear was designed, analyzed, and optimized with an analytical model regarding torque density.

Axial Flux Cycloidal Magnetic Gears

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2014
The radial flux cycloid permanent magnet gear is characterized by a high gear ratio and a high torque density due to the use of one air gap. There are at least three disadvantages of this gear: 1) eccentric motion of the output rotor must be transferred to concentric shaft rotation; 2) the bearing loads are very large due to the offset rotor rotation ...

Force Calculation of Cycloid Gear at Three Supporting Points Of Gear Pin for Speed Reducer with Three Cycloid Gears

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
FA high-precision drive, namely cycloid driving speed reducer with three cycloid gears, adopts the new driving structure of three cycloid gears at eccentric angle of 120 between each other. The paper analyzes the force of cycloid gear and pin gear at three supporting points of gear pin mainly by analysis, and compares the force of cycloid gear of the ...

On Martin Disteli's spatial cycloidal gearing

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 2013
Abstract The modeling of the tooth flanks of gears with skew axes still represents a challenge to geometers. This paper is a contribution along these lines, as pertaining to gears with skew axes and cycloidal teeth. To this end, the authors follow and extend the results reported by Martin Disteli at the turn of the 20th century concerning the general

Sliding ratio for novel cycloidal gear drive

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2017
In this paper, for a novel spur cycloidal gear drive with a modified tooth profile, the equations of the sliding ratio are deduced from those of its tooth profile. Using the sliding ratio equations, the sliding ratio of the novel cycloidal gear drive is investigated and effects of the drive parameters on the sliding ratio are analysed.
