Conjugated Olefin Enabled Rollover Cyclometallation of Distant C-H Bonds: Regioselective Annulation of o-Alkenyl Phenols with Alkynes

Chemistry - A European Journal, 2023
Although challenging, the distant C-H functionalization with precision is quite rewarding and has long been intriguing. Tailoring an appropriate template accomplishes the job but the prerequisite sets the limitation.

Studies on the cyclometallation of ferrocenylimines

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 2001
Abstract This review describes the cyclometallation reaction, including cyclomercuration, cyclopalladation and cycloplatination of Schiff base type of ferrocenylimines as well as the transmetallation reaction of cyclometallated ferrocenylimines and the stereochemistry associated with these reactions.

Cyclometallation of Alkylphosphines

open access: yes, 1998
Catalytic activation of alkane C-H bonds is of great technological importance in the efficient utilization of petrochemical feedstocks.1 Phosphines are widely used in many catalysts as co-ligands to control a wide variety of operational variables such as solubility in different solvents, stereospecificity, and regiospecificity.2 A very large number of ...

Metal controlled regioselectivity in the cyclometallation of 2-(1-naphthyl)-pyridine.

open access: yesChemical Communications, 2015
Cyclometallation of 2-(1-naphthyl)-pyridine is described. While cyclopalladation results in a five-membered metallacycle, cycloauration displays a completely orthogonal regioselectivity, resulting in the six-membered ring analogue.

A direct access to heterobimetallic complexes by roll-over cyclometallation.

open access: yesChemical Communications, 2017
Creation of a novel chelating site by roll-over cyclometallation opens up a new strategy for a rapid access to heterobimetallic complexes. Combinations of iridium(iii) with palladium(ii) or platinum(ii) have exemplarily been synthesized.
