Extreme multi-basin flooding linked with extra-tropical cyclones
Fluvial floods are typically investigated as ‘events’ at the single basin-scale, hence flood management authorities may underestimate the threat of flooding across multiple basins driven by large-scale and nearly concurrent atmospheric event(s). We pilot

ABSTRACT We investigate the impact of air quality regulations targeting fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on farmland values in corn and soybean producing counties in the United States over the period 1997–2022. Using self‐reported farmland value data from the Agricultural Census and county‐level pollution classifications provided by the Environmental ...

Abstract Soils that contain swelling clay minerals (e.g., montmorillonite) expand and contract during wetting and drying, causing movement within the soil profile. This process, known as argilliturbation, can alter artefact distributions, destroy stratigraphy and complicate the interpretation of archaeological deposits.

Amplitude spectra of microseisms generated By cyclonic storms
The predominate periods of microseisms have been studied by spectral analysis of microseisms recorded at Kodaikanal and Poona generated by cyclonic storms. Amplitude spectra have been obtained when storms are at various depths over Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. Two types of microseisms are noticed; one in the period range from 9.10 to 9.71 sec and the

The mechanism of temperature and pressure changes in the Earth's atmosphere during solar flares [PDF]
The effect of solar flares on the weather on Earth is examined. It is concluded that the processes which arise in the atmosphere are so intricate that a single calculation of solar activity is insufficient for long-range forecasting.

The term 'Cyclone' derived from a Greek word meaning the coil of a snake, is used for tropical revolving storms occurring in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. These storms are confined to definite regions of the earth and occur, for the most part,

Short Abstract This paper compares two systematic literature reviews—one in English and one in Vietnamese—to examine how language shapes the production and framing of knowledge on climate change and health. It highlights significant differences in methods, assumptions and policy framings, and argues that linguistic boundaries are not just technical ...
