Strontium carbonate deposition on copper substrate was carried out by the sedimentation method in order to produce yttrium-86. Natural strontium carbonate thick layer was prepared with 480 mg SrCO(3), 220 mg ethyl cellulose, and 7.5 mL acetone. This optimum condition is a result of several repeated experiments with different amount of ethyl cellulose ...

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation Part A, Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1987
Target-dissolution and radiochemical methods were investigated to optimize the simultaneous production of radiopharmaceutical-quality, no-carrier-added (NCA) 3.63-d 100Pd, 2.88-d 97Ru and 4.26-d 101mRh. These radionuclides have potential as radiotracer labels and/or as short-range dose emitters for use with specific-function radiopharmaceuticals being ...

Targetry and nuclear data for the cyclotron production of 55Fe via various reactions
The radionuclide iron-55 (T1/2 = 2.73 a) decays by electron capture and consists of small percentage of weak gamma rays. 55Fe can be employed for industrial, medical and agriculture applications. First, calculation of the excitation functions of iron-55 via the 55Mn(p,n)55Fe, 55Mn(d,2n)55Fe and 54Fe(α,n2p)55Fe reactions were performed and investigated ...

Target development for diversified irradiations at a medical cyclotron
The irradiation facility at an old medical cyclotron (Ep=17 MeV; Ed=10 MeV) was upgraded by extending the beam line and incorporation of solid state targetry. Tests performed to check the quality of the available beam are outlined.

Cyclotron targetry for production of short-lived positron emitters.
Acta radiologica. Supplementum, 1992The basic concepts of cyclotron target design are presented along with the relevant practical experience gained by workers in this field over the years. Results are presented from several recent studies on the temperature and density distribution inside gas and liquid targets. 5 refs., 3 figs.
