Influences of roller diameter error on contact stress for cylindrical roller bearing

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2014
The rollers of rolling bearings usually have certain geometrical error in actual machining process and, in the past, the mechanics analysis and computation of rolling bearing did not take into account the influences of this error in general. A cylindrical roller bearing is taken as the research object in this paper and a calculating model has been ...

Investigation of the dynamic local skidding behaviour of rollers in cylindrical roller bearings

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part K: Journal of Multi-body Dynamics, 2019
Skidding has a great influence on the reliability and the life of rolling element bearings. The previous research of bearing skidding mainly focussed on the gross skidding of bearings under severe conditions. However, the local skidding of rolling element also exists and cannot be ignored when bearing normally runs at steady state.

On the Frictional Instabilities in a Cylindrical Roller Bearing

Tribology Transactions, 1990
Computer simulations of a high-speed cylindrical roller bearing, as obtained by the computer code ADORE, are used to correlate bearing performance to the frictional behavior at the roller/race and cage contacts. It is shown that an optimum traction-slip relation at the roller/race contacts may be determined to produce minimum race wear and heat ...

Use of the properties of a single-cavity hyperboloid in roller bearings with cylindrical rollers

Vestnik Mashinostroeniya, 2020
The development of a new rolling bearing with cylindrical rollers and roller raceways in the form of the surface of a single-cavity hyperboloid is generalized. The bearing, designed for significant radial axial loads, is designed for roll supports of sheet-rolling stands.

Misalignment Problems in Cylindrical Roller Bearings

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1970
<div class="htmlview paragraph">In the application of cylindrical roller radial bearings where cumulative assembly tolerances or load deflection insure a significant skewness between inner and outer race center lines, careful design and manufacturing methods are required to provide reliable performance.

Influence of roller defect and coupled roller–inner–outer race defects on the performance of cylindrical roller bearing

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part K: Journal of Multi-body Dynamics, 2019
In the present study, a novel mathematical model is developed for the deformation between roller and races of cylindrical roller bearing using the effect of tilting and skewing of roller due to thrust load, radial deflection due to normal load, radial internal gap, and individual defect on roller as well as coupled defect on all races and roller. Also,

Effect Of Roller Profile On Cylindrical Roller Bearing Life Prediction—Part II Comparison of Roller Profiles

Tribology Transactions, 2001
Four roller profiles used in cylindrical roller bearing design and manufacture were analyzed using both a closed form solution and finite element analysis (FEA) for stress and life. The analyzed roller profiles were flat, end tapered, aerospace, and fully crowned and loaded against a flat raceway.

An Optical Study of the Lubrication of a 65 mm Cylindrical Roller Bearing

Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1979
All measurements of EHD film thicknesses have been carried out in simulated test machines. This study uses an actual bearing. A test rig using a 65 mm bore radial cylindrical roller bearing has been constructed with a specially designed sapphire window in the outer track. Full loads, and speeds to 3000 rpm were applied.
