Photonics of Topological Magnetic Textures

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Localized noncollinear magetic textures imprint their geometry and topology onto traversing photonic fields endowing them with orbital angular‐momentum, chirality, and magnetoelectric densities. Abstract Topological textures in magnetically ordered materials are an important case studies for fundamental research with promising applications in data ...

Monolayer Chiral Metasurface for Generation of Arbitrary Cylindrical Vector Beams

open access: yesPhotonics
The cylindrical vector beam (CVB) has been widely studied and applied in recent years. However, many CVB generation methods suffer from complex systems, and large-size devices are required. Here, we propose a monolayer chiral metasurface composed of spin-

Rotating light, OAM paradox and relativistic complex scalar field

open access: yes, 2008
Recent studies show that the angular momentum, both spin and orbital, of rotating light beams possesses counter-intuitive characteristics. We present a new approach to the question of orbital angular momentum of light based on the complex massless scalar

Observation of the Differential Goos‐Hänchen Shifts in Wavelength Domain Using a Helical Fiber Grating

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Goos‐Hänchen shift (GHS) is a phenomenon in which an optical beam experiences a longitudinal displacement upon total internal reflection. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate an enhanced GHS in the wavelength domain using a helical fiber grating (HFG).

Equation of spin motion in storage rings in a cylindrical coordinate system

open access: yes, 2006
The exact equation of spin motion in a cylindrical coordinate system with allowance for electric dipole moments of particles has been derived. This equation is convenient for analytical calculations of spin dynamics in circular storage rings when the ...

Auto‐Routing Fluidic Printed Circuit Boards

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces (STREAM) software tool for routing efficiently advanced macrofluidics, an open‐source software tool for automating the design of 3D‐printable fluidic circuit boards. STREAM streamlines tube routing and layout, enabling the rapid fabrication of fluidic networks for soft robotics, lab‐on‐a‐chip devices, microfluidics, and biohybrid ...

Optical Angular Momentum in Classical Electrodynamics

open access: yes, 2017
Invoking Maxwell's classical equations in conjunction with expressions for the electromagnetic (EM) energy, momentum, force, and torque, we use a few simple examples to demonstrate the nature of the EM angular momentum.

Cellular Snowballing: Cell Adhesion and Migration Drive the Self‐Assembly of Cell‐Microgel Biohybrid Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

General classical and quantum-mechanical description of magnetic resonance: An application to electric-dipole-moment experiments

open access: yes, 2017
A general theoretical description of a magnetic resonance is presented. This description is necessary for a detailed analysis of spin dynamics in electric-dipole-moment experiments in storage rings.

Cylindrical vector beam focusing through a dielectric interface: comment

open access: yesOptics Express, 2004
Errors in the results and conclusions presented in the paper "Cylindrical vector beam focusing through a dielectric interface" by Biss and Brown (Opt. Express 9, 490-497 (2001)) are discussed.
