Optical trapping of gold nanoparticles by cylindrical vector beam
Optics Letters, 2012Optical trapping of gold nanoparticles is experimentally demonstrated using radially and azimuthally polarized beams. The transverse optical trapping stiffness of gold nanoparticles is measured. The radially polarized beam exhibits a higher trapping efficiency than the azimuthally polarized beam and the Gaussian beam.

Approach to multiplexing fiber communication with cylindrical vector beams
Optics Letters, 2017Cylindrical vector beams (CVBs), including radial, azimuthal, and hybrid polarization vortex states, are based on the polarization singularity and regarded as the eigenmodes of fiber. In this Letter, we propose and demonstrate CVB (de)multiplexing communication in a few-mode fiber (FMF). We simulate the eight CVB modes, including the ±1 orders and the ±

Focusing of high order cylindrical vector beams
Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics, 2009We present the results of calculations of focusing high order cylindrical vector beams in the limit of high numerical aperture. We derive a form of the vectorial diffraction integrals for arbitrary radial and azimuthal mode indices and evaluate these numerically for a number of different modes.

An all-fiber laser for cylindrical vector beam
SPIE Proceedings, 2010We proposed and demonstrated an all-fiber laser to generate cylindrical vector beams at 1030 nm. The cylindrical vector beams were obtained by exciting high order mode operating in the few-mode fiber inside the laser system, which was implemented through adjusting the angle and transversal dimension of a couple of fiber collimators.

On-chip Tunable Cylindrical Vector Beams Emitter
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2016, 2016We experimentally demonstrated a silicon photonic cylindrical vector beams emitter, consisting of a micro-ring resonator with angular grating and a resistive heater. The device is capable of generating and tuning azimuthal and radial polarization beams.

Polarization and Propagation Behavior of Cylindrical Vector Beams
Frontiers in Optics 2013, 2013Expressions for cylindrical vector beams, that also satisfy Maxwell equations are derived. Modified description of two cylindrically polarized beams Bessel-Gauss and Laguerre-Gauss are studied and their propagation and polarization properties are investigated.

Propagation of cylindrical vector beams in a turbulent atmosphere
Chinese Physics B, 2010Based on the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle, the propagation of cylindrical vector beams in a turbulent atmosphere is investigated. The intensity distribution and the polarization degree of beams on propagation are studied. It is found that the beam profile has a Gaussian shape under the influence of the atmospheric turbulence, and the polarization

Optical tweezers based on cylindrical vector beams
SPIE Proceedings, 2013Optical tweezers based on cylindrical vector beams are studied theoretically and experimentally. First, we present the basic concept of a cylindrical vector beam (CVB), whose polarization is axially symmetric to the optical axis. Second, two theoretical modes to analyze the interaction between the light beam and the particle are introduced ...

Shaping the Focal Fields of Cylindrical Vector Beams
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, 2017Two kinds of methods to shape the focal fields of cylindrical vector beams were illustrated in this work. One was based on mathematical formulations and the other was based on computerized optimizations.

Propagation properties of a cylindrically polarized vector beam
Frontiers of Optoelectronics in China, 2009A general expression for the electric field of a cylindrically polarized vector beam propagating in free space is derived on the basis of the exact fully vectorial solution of Maxwell equations in transverse Fourier space, which indicates that a cylindrical polarization can be regarded as the combination of radial and azimuthal polarizations, and the ...
