Impact of Hydrological Regime and Temperature on Vegetation Growth Patterns in Floodplain Lakes Under Extreme Drought

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The hydrological regime, particularly flooding duration and depth, is one of the primary driving factors for the vegetation pattern in floodplain lakes. Climate change‐induced droughts are extending shoal exposure times, potentially amplifying the impact of temperature on plant growth. However, the nonlinear interactive effects of hydrological

Allelopathic Effects of Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon) on Seed Germination, Growth and Yield of Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum) [PDF]

open access: yesIkufīziyuluzhī-i Giyāhān-i Zirā̒ī, 2010
Because of abundance and importance of Cynodon dactylon in wheat fields a factorial experiment was conducted with three replicates to study allelopathic effects on Cynodon dactylon on wheat in 2oo7. Extract of different parts of this weed in five levels (

Enhanced below‐ground functioning is associated with higher plant resistance against drought: Implications for ecosystem functions

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
The results suggest that the subordinate species achieves higher drought resistance in biomass and soil functions via increased below‐ground functioning. The data presented here provide a basis to explain the underlying mechanisms behind the response of grassland communities and their C cycling to drought.
