Biochemical differentiation between some genera of African Cyprinodontidae
The polymorphism of 12 loci encoding enzymes has been investigated in 11 species of tropical freshwater fishes of the family Cyprinodontidae. These species can be divided into six genetic groups (A to F) on the basis of NEI'S genetic distances. The genetic differentiation between these groups is equivalent and very high.

The role of freshwater bioacoustics in ecological research
Fish are the focal study species in the majority of freshwater bioacoustic studies, which often focus on a single species that is recorded in laboratory aquaria. Despite their significant contributions to soundscape composition and ecosystem function, arthropods were poorly represented in the research literature.

The effects of parasitism and body length on positioning within wild fish shoals [PDF]
The influence of body length and parasitism on the positioning behaviour of individuals in wild fish shoals was investigated by a novel means of capturing entire shoals of the banded killifish (Fundulus diaphanus, Lesueur) using a grid-net that ...

Present distribution of the threatened killifish Aphanius fasciatus (Actinopterygii, Cyprinodontidae) in the Maltese Islands [PDF]
A survey of the nine localities from which the threatened Killifish Aphanius fasciatus has been recorded in the Maltese Islands showed that large and thriving populations exist at Salina, at the Simar and Ghadira bird sanctuaries and in reservoirs at ...
