Life‐History Patterns of Cuban Poeciliid Fishes (Teleostei: Cyprinodontiformes)

Adult fish stocks were captured in their natural habitat, and litters obtained from them were raised and maintained in captivity for 19 weeks. Rivulus, a genus of freshwater fish in the Rivulidae family, was recently reclassified into five genera, including Melanorivulus. Its type species, M. punctatus, is widely distributed and probably represents a species complex.

Zeitschrift f�r Zellforschung und Mikroskopische Anatomie, 1967A submicroscopical study of Jenynsia lineata spermatids and spermatozoa has been made. The formation of an axial nuclear cavity by folding is described. A sub-mitochondrial net with a very geometrical pattern has been found in the mid piece; to the author's knowledge this structure is not comparable to any other described up to now.
