Molecular phylogeny of the livebearing Goodeidae (Cyprinodontiformes)

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2004
The Goodeinae is a speciose group of viviparous freshwater fishes endemic to the Mesa Central of Mexico. The current taxonomy of the group is based on morphology associated with viviparity and several of the groupings are questionable. We sequenced part of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene (627bp) and control region ...

Phylogeography of the genus Epiplatys (Aplocheiloidea: Cyprinodontiformes)

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2009
There are six major genera of aplocheiloid killifishes endemic to West Africa. Five of these are largely restricted to the two major blocks of rainforest. Two are found within the Eastern rainforest block (Nigeria to the central Congo) while three are found within the Western rainforest block (Sierra Leone to Togo).

Osteological analysis of the killifish genusCynolebias (Cyprinodontiformes: Rivulidae)

Journal of Morphology, 1998
Relationships among the species of the annual fish Cynolebias are unclear. An analysis of the variation and utility of osteological characters for phylogenetic analysis was done using cleared and double-stained specimens representing 21 species of Cynolebias.

Life‐History Patterns of Cuban Poeciliid Fishes (Teleostei: Cyprinodontiformes)

Zoo Biology, 2012
The following work provides basic information about the life history of 10 Cuban species of the family Poeciliidae. Adult fish stocks were captured in their natural habitat, and litters obtained from them were raised and maintained in captivity for 19 weeks. For each species, we present the mean value of newborn length (TLo), age at sexual maturity (AM)

Ultrastructural features of spermatogenesis in Melanorivulus punctatus (Cyprinodontiformes: Rivulidae)

Micron, 2014
Fish belonging to the family Rivulidae possess one of the most complex reproductive systems. Rivulus, a genus of freshwater fish in the Rivulidae family, was recently reclassified into five genera, including Melanorivulus. Its type species, M. punctatus, is widely distributed and probably represents a species complex.
