European Journal of Education, Volume 59, Issue 3, September 2024.Abstract This study presents a list of 2022 Bulgarian‐Turkish cognate words that can be used to facilitate vocabulary acquisition and cross‐linguistic awareness. The list was created manually through a multi‐step process that involved scanning the database of an online dictionary to identify Bulgarian words that had the same or similar forms in Turkish.

Yesterday's “lake” endures in its name—The etymology of lake names
Limnology and Oceanography Bulletin, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 1-9, February 2024.Abstract The global language of limnology is English, but most of our study objects do not have English names. Here, I compare 57,000 lake names in a lake‐rich, non‐English speaking country, that is, Sweden, with a previous analysis of 83,000 lakes in the conterminous United States. The diversity of lake name appellations is strikingly different.
