Taxonomic Diversity of Fungi Associated with Some PCN Populations from Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesPesticidi i Fitomedicina, 2012
Increased content of pesticides in food chain resulted in using microorganisms asagents of biological control. The potato cyst nematodes (PCN) - Globodera pallida and G.rostochiensis belong to the group of the most important parasites - the quarantine ...

The Role of Callose Deposition Along Plasmodesmata in Nematode Feeding Sites

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2010
Infective second-stage juveniles of the obligate plant-parasitic root-knot and cyst nematodes invade plant roots to induce specialized feeding structures.

Advances in Plant-Nematode Interactions with Emphasis on the Notorious Nematode Genus Meloidogyne. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Plant infections by plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) continue to be one of the major limitations in agricultural systems. Root-knot nematodes (RKNs), belonging to the genus Meloidogyne, are one of the most important groups of PPNs worldwide.

The β integrin modulates serotonin sensitivity via NPxY motifs to regulate egg laying and mechanosensation behaviors in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Integrin is an αβ heterodimeric receptor to the extracellular matrix; its binding to the matrix recruits focal adhesions to two NPxY motifs, the tyrosine phosphorylation sites in the cytoplasmic domain. Studies found that replacing tyrosines (Y) with phenylalanines (F) in the motif of β1 integrin displayed little developmental or ...

Infection Assay of Cyst Nematodes on Arabidopsis Roots

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2015
Plant parasitic nematodes are devastating pests on many crops. Juveniles (J2) of cyst nematodes invade the roots to induce a syncytium. This feeding site is their only source of nutrients. Male nematodes leave the roots after the fourth molt to mate with

Occurrence and molecular characterization of cyst nematode species (Globodera spp.) associated with potato crops in Colombia.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Potato cyst nematodes (PCN) from the genus Globodera spp. cause major losses in the potato (Solanum tuberosum) industry worldwide. Despite their importance, at present little is known about the status of this plant pathogen in cultivated potatoes in ...

Functionally complementary bacterial inoculant coordinates arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi to improve Angelica sinensis root yield and quality

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Comprehensive understanding of how diverse PGPR strains enhance the rhizosphere microenvironment remains a considerable challenge. Here, we provide experimental evidence that a functionally synergistic composite microbial formulation can markedly enhance growth performance and improve the quality attributes in Angelica sinensis.

Managing populations of cyst-forming nematodes in agroecosystems of field crops

open access: yesBiosystems Diversity
Cyst-forming nematodes have been known since the second half of the 19th century as one of the causes of "soil fatigue" and highly harmful agricultural pests.

ParaHox Genes Revisited: From Gut Patterning to Integrated Axial and Neural Organization in Rotifera

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part B: Molecular and Developmental Evolution, EarlyView.
In rotifers, ParaHox genes show a dispersed genomic organization, with Xlox absent across gnathiferans. Exclusive neuronal expression of Gsx and Cdx reveals that ancestral ParaHox genes coordinated neural and epithelial development beyond gut patterning, suggesting an integrated role in early bilaterian body plan organization.

Morphological and molecular characterization of Heterodera ripae, a new record cyst nematode in the rhizosphere soil of Fagopyrum esculentum

open access: yesScientific Reports
Numerous plant parasitic nematodes (PPNs) have the potential to inflict considerable damage on agricultural crops. Through a comprehensive survey aimed at identifying PPNs affecting crops, cyst nematodes were isolated from the rhizosphere soil of ...
