Cystic echinococcosis due to Echinococcus equinus in a Swiss donkey

Summary A 22‐year‐old donkey (Equus asinus) mare was presented for investigation of a 3‐day history of lethargy and anorexia. Serum biochemistry profile revealed severe increased liver‐derived enzymes. Abdominal ultrasound demonstrated several large round cysts in the liver.

INTRODUCTION: Typically, SCN is single and doesn't invade around tissue. In our case, tumors were multiple and had gradually grown and caused vein stenosis. This is extremely rare and unique resected multiple SCN case. In addition, I report that it was thought to be educational that even benign tumors could cause such changes.

Microwave ablation (MWA) is a minimally invasive treatment method for pediatric thyroid nodules. Our study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of MWA in reducing the size of these nodules. MWA utilizes microwave energy to destroy abnormal thyroid tissue, resulting in nodule shrinkage and symptom relief.
