Serous Cystadenoma of the Pancreas Presenting as a Third Primary Neoplasm

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2003
Serous cystadenomas are the most common cystic neoplasms of the pancreas. They may occur solely or coexist with other neoplasms. A 10 cm mass involving the body of the pancreas was observed in the computed tomography of a 61-year-old man with a previous ...

The Elusive Appearance of Hyperenhancing Solid Serous Cystadenoma of the Pancreas—Radio-Pathological Correlation

open access: yesJournal of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, 2021
Serous cystadenomas account for ~10 to 29% of pancreatic cystic tumors. Solid serous cystadenoma (SSCA) is a rare variant, first described in 1996, with imaging characteristics different from the classical serous cystadenoma of the pancreas and can cause

Metamorphoses in pancreatic cancer precursors: the role of simple mucinous cysts†

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Pancreatic cystic lesions present a unique opportunity to identify and potentially prevent pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), one of the deadliest solid tumors. Until now, research has primarily focused on intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) and mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs), whose potential for malignant transformation ...

Splenic and pancreatic abscessation with vascular abnormalities in a dog

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract A 3‐year‐old male neutered Collie was presented with gastrointestinal signs, lethargy and weight loss, following a history of pancreatitis. Pancreatic solid serous cystadenoma: a rare entity that can lead to a futile surgery

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Case Reports, 2019
Although many types of pancreatic tumors exist, pancreatic solid serous cystadenoma stand as the most rare. Despite advances in medical imaging, definitive diagnosis remains complex. Here, we report a case of a 63-year-old man with a suspicious lesion of
