Pancreatic Serous Cystadenoma with Compression of the Main Pancreatic Duct: An Unusual Entity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Serous cystadenoma is a common benign neoplasm that can be managed without surgery in asymptomatic patients provided that the diagnosis is certain. We describe a patient, whose pancreatic cyst exhibited a radiological appearance distinct from that of ...

Pancreatic solid serous cystadenoma: a rare entity that can lead to a futile surgery

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Case Reports, 2019
Although many types of pancreatic tumors exist, pancreatic solid serous cystadenoma stand as the most rare. Despite advances in medical imaging, definitive diagnosis remains complex. Here, we report a case of a 63-year-old man with a suspicious lesion of

Analysis of benign neoplasms of the rete testis formerly termed “Sertoliform cystadenomas” demonstrates that they are not Sertoli cell tumours with intra‐rete growth

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 87, Issue 1, Page 35-43, July 2025.
Benign tumours of the rete testis are uncommon and include mostly cystadenomas and adenomas, including a subset with tubular or tubulopapillary architecture. The latter show morphological similarities with Sertoli cell tumours and were previously termed Sertoliform cystadenomas of the rete testis.

An attention-based deep learning network for predicting Platinum resistance in ovarian cancer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Background: Ovarian cancer is among the three most frequent gynecologic cancers globally. High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) is the most common and aggressive histological type. Guided treatment for HGSOC typically involves platinum-based combination chemotherapy, necessitating an assessment of whether the patient is platinum-resistant.

Ultrasound‐guided cyst aspiration for management of acute adnexal torsion

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 65, Issue 6, Page 790-797, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Ultrasound‐guided cyst aspiration is a potential treatment for acute adnexal torsion that can be performed in the outpatient setting, offering an alternative to emergency laparoscopic surgery. The objective of this study was to describe our initial experience with aspiration of acutely torted adnexal cysts.

Differentiation of mucinous from non-mucinous pancreatic cyst fluid using dual-stained, 1 dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: Pancreatic cysts are being increasingly identified in patients. Mucinous cysts have malignant potential whereas non-mucinous cysts do not.

Microcystic serous cystadenoma mimicking pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm: report of a resected case with preoperative diagnostic difficulty and review of the literature

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2022
Background Microcystic pancreatic serous cystadenoma (SCA) can be managed without surgery in selected patients. However, the preoperative diagnosis of microcystic SCA remains challenging, and it is potentially misdiagnosed as other pancreatic cystic ...

Vision Transformer-Based Deep Learning for Histologic Classification of Endometrial Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Endometrial cancer, the fourth most common cancer in females in the United States, with the lifetime risk for developing this disease is approximately 2.8% in women. Precise histologic evaluation and molecular classification of endometrial cancer is important for effective patient management and determining the best treatment modalities.

A Rare Case of Large Ovarian Thecoma Diagnosed Histopathologically Following Surgical Management in a Premenopausal Woman: A Case Report and Review of the Current Literature

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Ovarian thecomas are rare sex cord‐stromal tumors of the ovary. These tumors are estimated to account for 1% of all ovarian neoplasms. Thecomas are primarily composed of cells that resemble theca cells, which are involved in estrogen production.
