Suitability of Robotic‐Assisted Surgery for Hepatic Peribiliary Cysts: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
Robotic‐assisted subsegmentectomy of liver segment III was successfully performed for a growing hepatic peribiliary cyst that could not be distinguished from a malignant tumor. This approach demonstrates the feasibility and safety of minimally invasive robotic surgery for hepatic peribiliary cysts.

An integrated proteomic and glycoproteomic approach uncovers differences in glycosylation occupancy from benign and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors

open access: yesClinical Proteomics, 2017
Background Epithelial ovarian carcinomas encompass a heterogeneous group of diseases with a poor 5-year survival rate. Serous carcinoma is the most common type. Most FDA-approved serum tumor markers are glycoproteins.

Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) in benign and malignant diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: Human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) is described as a useful new biomarker in ovarian cancer. As HE4 is neither tumor nor organ specific, we intensively investigated the occurrence of this protein in female and male patients with various benign ...

Clinicopathological Diagnosis and Prognosis of Endometrioid Borderline Ovarian Tumors: Dual Case Reports and Literature Review

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 8, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Endometrioid borderline ovarian tumor (EBOT) is rare and frequently misdiagnosed. This study aims to investigate the clinicopathological features, immunohistochemical characteristics, differential diagnosis, therapeutic approaches and disease prognosis, thereby establishing a robust foundation to mitigate misdiagnosis risks and ...

Differentiation of mucinous from non-mucinous pancreatic cyst fluid using dual-stained, 1 dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: Pancreatic cysts are being increasingly identified in patients. Mucinous cysts have malignant potential whereas non-mucinous cysts do not.

Atypical proliferating mucinous tumors of gigantic dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background. Ovarian tumors of low malignant potential (LMP) are also known as atypically proliferating tumors. Ovarian tumors of LPM account for approximately 15% of all epithelial ovarian cancers. Mean age of occurrence is 40 years and they are 15-20 cm

Nanoscale Analysis beyond Imaging by Atomic Force Microscopy: Molecular Perspectives on Oncology and Neurodegeneration

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 5, Issue 11, November 2025.
Cancer and neurodegeneration share interconnected nanosized molecular pathways. Novel nanobiomedicine approaches promise targeted biomarkers and therapies. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is invaluable to characterize nanosized biomolecular processes beyond imaging.

The Diagnostic Accuracy of Abdominal Ultrasound Imaging for Detection of Ovarian Masses [PDF]

open access: yes
Background/Objective: Detection of the tissue diagnosis of ovarian space occupying lesions (OSOL) has remained a challenging task for sonographers since many adnexal masses have nonspecific sonographic appearances.

Cystic Intraductal Papillary Neoplasm of the Bile Duct in the Left Lobe of the Liver With Associated Liver Atrophy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Cystic IPNB is a rare liver disease with a high risk of malignant transformation (64%–89%) and poses diagnostic challenges. We describe a case of a 74‐year‐old woman with a large bilobar mucinous cyst in the left liver lobe associated with its atrophy managed with left hepatectomy.
