A Diagnostic Dilemma in Hepatic Cystic Lesions: Radiological Mimicry of Biliary Cystadenoma and Hydatid Cyst in a Histologically Confirmed Simple Hepatic Cyst. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT Hepatic cystic lesions pose diagnostic challenges due to overlapping imaging features, as simple hepatic cysts may mimic biliary cystadenoma or hydatid cysts. We report a 43‐year‐old female with chronic right lower abdominal pain, initially diagnosed with hydatid cyst on ultrasonography and later suspected as biliary cystadenoma on CT and MRI.

Rapidly Growing Mucinous Cystadenoma in a 13-Year-Old Premenarchal Female: A Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT Mucinous cystadenomas are rare ovarian tumors in premenarchal girls but can present as rapidly growing large abdominal masses causing obstructive symptoms. Early recognition and timely surgical intervention, often requiring salpingo‐oophorectomy, are crucial to prevent complications.

CT and MRI Manifestations of Pancreatic Hemangioma: A Literature Review and a New Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT Pancreatic hemangioma is an extremely rare benign tumor occurring in the pancreas. Preoperative diagnosis is challenging due to its lack of specificity in clinical manifestations and imaging examinations. A pancreatic lesion was found during physical examination of a 54‐year‐old woman who had no symptoms of abdominal discomfort.

Hepatobiliary cystadenomas

open access: yesThe Annals of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, 2013
Introduction Hepatobiliary cystadenomas are rare cystic tumours that can arise from any portion of the biliary tract but most commonly develop intrahepatically. They typically cause non-specific symptoms and are often detected incidentally. Cystadenomas can be mistaken for simple hepatic cysts on radiological imaging, which leads to inadequate ...

Combined Pancreatic Endocrine Tumor and Serous Cystadenoma

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2009
Pancreatic serous cystadenomas account for 1–2% of all exocrine pancreatic tumors, and endocrine tumors account for 1–2% of all pancreatic neoplasms. The combination of pancreatic serous cystadenoma and endocrine tumor is even rarer.

Biliary cystadenoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Gastroenterology, 2009
The diagnosis of cystadenoma is rare, even more so when located in the extrahepatic bile duct. Unspecific clinical signs may lead this pathology to be misdiagnosed. The need for pathological anatomy in order to distinguish cystadenomas from simple biliary cysts is crucial.
