Improving Ram Semen Low Cryotolerance by Replacing the Seminal Plasma With That of High‐Cryotolerant Rams or Extender

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
Altering the seminal plasma ingredients by replacement, especially with seminal plasma from that of high‐cryotolerant rams, can be recommended as an alternative method to increase cryotolerance in rams with low cryotolerance. ABSTRACT Ram semen cryotolerance problem continues despite intensive research.

Association of Vancomycin Plus Piperacillin‐Tazobactam With Acute Kidney Injury: Differentiating Pseudo‐Injury From True Nephrotoxicity

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT The combination of vancomycin and piperacillin‐tazobactam (VPT) is widely used for severe infections, but its potential synergistic nephrotoxicity remains debated. This study used the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database via AERSMine to assess the risk of AKI with VPT and vancomycin plus carbapenems (VC), compared to other ...

Efficacy of Urine Asymmetric Dimethylarginine Concentration to Predict Azotemia in Hyperthyroid Cats After Radio‐Iodine Treatment

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Hyperthyroidism can mask concurrent chronic kidney disease in cats, and no accurate biomarkers are available to predict which cats will develop renal azotemia after radioiodine (131I) treatment. Hypothesis/Objectives To evaluate the potential of serum and urinary metabolites and metabolite ratios to predict post‐131I renal azotemia ...
