Tuning Mechanoreceptor Signaling Enhances the Adjuvant Effect of Biomaterial Vaccines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 66, 17 August 2026.
Matrix stiffness serves as an independent immunological signal in biomaterial vaccines. Stiffer microporous hydrogel vaccines enhance dendritic cell maturation and migration to draining lymph nodes, promote T follicular helper cell expansion through Yap/Taz signaling, and increase antigen‐specific antibody production.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell‐Mediated Intercellular Communication: Mapping the Interactome for Skeletal Muscle Homeostasis and Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
Liu et al. define a systems‐level interactome of fibroadipogenic progenitor (FAP)‐mediated signaling in skeletal muscle by integrating single‐cell transcriptomics with FAP depletion‐based perturbation analysis. Functional interrogation using a conditioned media bioassay links predicted signaling to multicellular outcomes, establishing a framework to ...

Impact of Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermentation on the Nutritional and Sensory Quality of Arthrospira platensis Beverages

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
To improve the consumer appeal of Arthrospira platensis, this study utilized probiotic fermentation to mitigate its strong seaweed‐like aroma. Using Lactiplantibacillus plantarum significantly boosted amino acids, introduced novel volatiles, and enhanced umami flavors.

Seaweed‐Derived Proteolytic Extracts as Natural Interfacial Stabilizers for Oxidatively Sensitive DHA‐Rich Oil‐in‐Water Emulsions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 128, Issue 8, August 2026.
Red seaweed extracts have potential to protect DHA‐rich emulsions against oxidation while maintaining their physical stability. Their combined antioxidant and interfacial properties make them promising clean‐label ingredients for omega‐3‐enriched foods.

Embryonic Mediators of Embryo–Uterus Communication, Implantation and Pregnancy

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 93, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Successful reproduction in eutherian mammals requires intimate connections between the embryo and uterus, involving adhesion, attachment and placentation, with or without invasion of the endometrium. The complex dialogue between embryo and uterus involves numerous molecules and pathways.

Integrated analysis with iCM‐SANS, SAXS and MD simulations for dynamics of multi‐domain proteins

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 4, Page 1270-1281, August 2026.
Segmental deuteration, combined with inverse contrast‐matching small‐angle neutron scattering (iCM‐SANS) and small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS), provides structural constraints that improve discrimination of conformation ensembles of multi‐domain proteins derived from molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.Multi‐domain proteins (MDPs) adopt diverse ...

Aerobic Endurance Training Modulates Cardiac Renin‐Angiotensin System Peptides and Matrix Metalloproteinase Activity During Chronic Stress

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 15, August 2026.
ABSTRACT To investigate the involvement of metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the context of endurance training and their interactions with renin‐angiotensin signalling (RAS) in stress‐induced pathophysiological responses. Trained rats were submitted to 8‐weeks of endurance treadmill training with chronic mild stress (CMS), TS rats, and without CMS (T).

Localization and function ofRhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplusvitellin-degrading cysteine endopeptidase

open access: yesParasitology, 2010
SUMMARYThe tickRhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplusis an important parasite of cattle in many areas of the tropics. Characterization of molecules involved in mechanisms such as vitellogenesis and embryo development may contribute to a better understanding of this parasite's physiology.
