Cytokinins [PDF]

open access: yesThe Arabidopsis Book, 2014
Cytokinins are N (6) substituted adenine derivatives that affect many aspects of plant growth and development, including cell division, shoot initiation and growth, leaf senescence, apical dominance, sink/source relationships, nutrient uptake, phyllotaxis, and vascular, gametophyte, and embryonic development, as well as the response to biotic and ...

Effects of organic and chemical nitrogen fertilization and postharvest treatments on the visual and nutritional quality of fresh‐cut celery (Apium graveolens L.) during storage

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 320-333, January 2023., 2023
Nowadays, consumers have an increasing preference for vegetables produced using healthier and environmentally friendly techniques. The postharvest quality of fresh‐cut celery is affected by nitrogen (N) fertilizer rate and type (organic and chemical) as well as postharvest treatments.

Systematic review on spheroids from adipose‐derived stem cells: Spontaneous or artefact state?

open access: yesJournal of Cellular Physiology, Volume 237, Issue 12, Page 4397-4411, December 2022., 2022
Our proposed model of spheroid isolation from liposuction fat. The tissue disintegration releases the pre‐existing spheroids as intact structures. This could be the ideal technique to culture cells in suspension because it avoids a preliminary adhesion isolation step and thus an upstream cell selection.

Cytokinins on the Move [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Cytokinins are important signals that participate in different plant processes, and are well known for their strong influence in plant development. With the years, knowledge has been built about their effects, chemical nature, metabolism, and signaling mechanisms. However, one aspect about cytokinins that has been lagging behind is cytokinin transport.

Role of cytokinins in seed development in pulses and oilseed crops: Current status and future perspective

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Cytokinins constitutes a vital group of plant hormones regulating several developmental processes, including growth and cell division, and have a strong influence on grain yield.

A mathematical model integrates diverging PXY and MP interactions in cambium development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The cambium is a meristematic tissue in plant stems. Here, cell divisions occur that are required for radial growth of plant stems. Daughters of cell divisions within the cambium differentiate into woody xylem cells towards the inside of the stem, or phloem towards the outside. As such, a pattern of xylem-cambium-phloem is present along the radial axis

Cytokinin Sensing in Bacteria [PDF]

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2020
Although it has long been known that bacteria detect and react to plant chemicals to establish an interaction, the cellular signaling mechanisms involved in these perception processes have hitherto remained obscure. Some exciting recent advances in the field have described, for the first time, how some phytopathogenic bacteria sense the host plant ...

Effect of Nitrogen and Cytokinin on Quantitative and Qualitative Yield of Thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) [PDF]

open access: yesAgrotechniques in Industrial Crops, 2021
In order to investigate the effect of nitrogen and cytokinin on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of thyme, a three-year factorial experiment was conducted at Razi University based on a randomized complete block design with 3 replications.

Ethylene-independent promotion of photomorphogenesis in the dark by cytokinin requires COP1 and the CDD complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The transition of skotomorphogenesis to photomorphogenesis is induced by the perception of light, and is characterized by the inhibition of hypocotyl elongation and opening of cotyledons.

Gene regulation by cytokinin

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2012
The plant hormone cytokinin realizes at least part of its signaling output through the regulation of gene expression. A great part of the early transcriptional regulation is mediated by type-B response regulators, which are transcription factors of the ...
