Capillary electrophoresis of cytokinins and cytokinin ribosides

Journal of Chromatography A, 1997
A CE separation of cytokinins and cytokinin ribosides and some other purine and pyrimidine bases has been developed. Two electrolyte systems have been tested: 150 mM phosphoric acid, pH 1.8 and 50 mM sodium dodecylsulphate + 20 mM borate, pH 9.2. The migration times were measured and the effects of the solute structures were discussed.

Cytokinin signaling

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 1998
Although cytokinin plays a central role in plant development, our knowledge of the biosynthesis, distribution, perception and signal transduction of cytokinin is limited. Recent molecular-genetic studies have, however, implicated involvement of a two-component system in cytokinin signal transduction.

Plant cytokinin signalling

Essays in Biochemistry, 2015
Cytokinin is an essential plant hormone that is involved in a wide range of plant growth and developmental processes which are controlled through its signalling pathway. Cytokinins are a class of molecules that are N6-substituted adenine derivatives, such as isopentenyl adenine, and trans- and cis-zeatin, which are common in most plants. The ability to

Cytokinin Signaling Pathway

Science's STKE, 2007
Cytokinins are key regulators of a large number of processes in plant development, which is highly plastic and adaptive, and remarkably resilient and self-perpetuating. Cytokinin signaling involves a multistep two-component system, also called a phosphorelay signaling system.

Cytokinin oxidase is key enzyme of cytokinin degradation

Biochemistry (Moscow), 2012
Cytokinin oxidase (EC 1.5.99.12) is an enzyme that catalyzes the irreversible degradation of cytokinin phytohormones that are extremely necessary for growth, development, and differentiation of plants. Cytokinin oxidase plays an important role in the regulation of quantitative level of cytokinins and their distribution in plant tissues.

Cytokinins from soils

Planta, 1976
Substances that coeluted with zeatin and zeatin riboside were extracted from soils supporting plants growing in symbiotic association with microorganisms.

Cytokinin Oxidase/Cytokinin Dehydrogenase Assay: Optimized Procedures and Applications

Analytical Biochemistry, 2002
Spectrophotometric methods for determining the activity of cytokinin oxidase/cytokinin dehydrogenase (EC 1.5.99.12) were developed and optimized. A sensitive end-point method based on a combination of the electron acceptor 2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol and Schiff base formation of the reaction product with 4-aminophenol under acidic conditions can be ...

Review – Cytokinin Response Factors: Responding to more than cytokinin

Plant Science, 2019
Cytokinin Response Factors (CRFs) are a family of transcription factors which make up a side branch of the classical cytokinin two-component signaling pathway. CRFs were originally identified and have been primarily studied in Arabidopsis thaliana, although orthologs have be found throughout all land plants.

Biosynthesis of cytokinins

Journal of Plant Research, 2003
Cytokinins are adenine derivatives with an isoprenoid side chain and play an essential role in plant development. Plant isopentenyltransferases that catalyze the first and rate-limiting steps of cytokinin biosynthesis have recently been identified.
