The cytokinins specifically induce formation of gametophore buds in the protonema of Ceratodon purpureus. The responsein this species is less sensitive than in Funaria hygrometrica, but is independent of light.

Low temperature is a major limiting factor for the growth and reproduction of some plant species, such as tomato. So far, few studies have been conducted on the effects of low temperature, and the mechanisms of plants’ response to this type of stress is ...

Arabidopsis ABCG14 is essential for the root-to-shoot translocation of cytokinin. [PDF]
Cytokinins are phytohormones that induce cytokinesis and are essential for diverse developmental and physiological processes in plants. Cytokinins of the trans-zeatin type are mainly synthesized in root vasculature and transported to the shoot, where ...

Strigolactones as an auxiliary hormonal defence mechanism against leafy gall syndrome in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]
Leafy gall syndrome is the consequence of modified plant development in response to a mixture of cytokinins secreted by the biotrophic actinomycete Rhodococcus fascians. The similarity of the induced symptoms with the phenotype of plant mutants defective

Cytokinins which promote cell division and cell differentiation of plants are structurally classified into two groups: purine-type cytokinins and phenylurea-type cytokinins. Structural modification of the two types led a potent cytokinin, N-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N'-phenylurea (forchlorfenuron). Structure-activity relationship was discussed.

Soybean Auxin Transporter PIN3 Regulates Nitrate Acquisition to Improve Nitrogen Use and Seed Traits
Xu et al. discovers that switching off auxin transporters in soybean, PIN3a and PIN3b, disrupts auxin flow; this triggers ARF‐STF3/4 signal cascade to activate the nitrate importer NPF2.13 and soil nitrogen acquisition. Multi‐year field trials show edited soybeans maintain yield with higher oil content, offering a potential genetic route to improve ...

Artificial Seed Production from Encapsulated Microshoots of Cauliflower (Brassica oleraceae var botrytis) [PDF]
A cost effective protocol for the production of cauliflower microshoots suitable for encapsulation was designed. Microshoots were encapsulated in sodium chloride matrices. The use of 2% of sodium alginate and 15 g/L of dehydrate calcium chloride produced

Plants are promising materials for building sustainable and eco‐friendly robots due to their inherent multifunctionality, with actuation playing a crucial role. This article focuses on the physical movements of plants and, from the perspective of actuation characteristics, explores representative plant species and their behaviors, the current state of ...
