A Comparative Study on Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology versus Fine Needle Capillary Cytology in Thyroid Nodules

open access: yesOman Medical Journal, 2012
Objectives: Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC/FNA) is the primary investigation for thyroid nodules. Fine needle capillary cytology (FNCC/FNC) is an alternative technique not commonly used, though it is easy to perform. Both the techniques have their

Long‐Term Outcomes of Radiofrequency Ablation for Benign Thyroid Nodules of Different Sizes: Implications of Regrowth and New Growth

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Radiofrequency ablation is an effective treatment for benign thyroid nodules. Since initial nodule volume may impact the efficacy of radiofrequency ablation, this study evaluated its long‐term outcomes across varying nodule sizes, focusing on regrowth, new growth, and clinical management implications.

Assessing the Accuracy, Safety, and Tolerance of Office‐Based Endoscopic Biopsies for Laryngopharyngeal Lesions

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This prospective study assessed the accuracy, safety, and tolerance of 490 office‐based biopsies for the diagnosis of laryngopharyngeal lesions. Results showed that OBBs, mainly taken from the glottic and supraglottic larynx, were generally well‐tolerated, with a low complication rate and high diagnostic accuracy.
