Cytomegalovirus retinitis

Survey of Ophthalmology, 1989
Cytomegalovirus retinitis is a frequent and serious complication of various conditions, including diseases characterized by impaired immunity, such as the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Due to recent advances in the treatment of cytomegalovirus retinitis, accurate diagnosis and management have become increasingly important.

Rhegmatogenous retinal detachments with cytomegalovirus retinitis

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1998
The most important ocular opportunistic infection in patients with AIDS is cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis. Management of CMV retinitis has become complex, as the life expectancy of many patients has increased exponentially. Most retinal detachments in CMV retinitis are rhegmatogenous in nature. Because of atrophic changes in the retina and alterations
