Variation in the prevalence of cytoplasmic incompatibility-inducing Wolbachia in the butterfly Eurema hecabe across the Japanese archipelago. Evol Ecol Res 7: 931–942 [PDF]
Question: Is the prevalence of cytoplasmic incompatibility-inducing Wolbachia spreading throughout butterfly populations? Hypothesis: Wolbachia are self-promoting intracellular microbes and the infection spreads easily among host populations.

Lysosome‐Targeted Squaramide Anion Transporters
Lysosome‐targeted squaramide anion transporters elicit different biological effects depending on the targeting group employed. ABSTRACT Targeting anion transporters to specific organelles has previously been shown to be an effective strategy to enhance their cytotoxicities against cancerous cell lines.

Raman Optical Activity as a Tool to Monitor Polynucleotide Conformation in Solutions
Raman optical activity (ROA) studies of nucleic acids have been hindered by limited computational tools to link the spectra to the structure. The study shows that accurate density functional simulations are possible for model nucleotides, bringing more information about molecular geometry and dynamics in solutions.

Arabidopsis AUGMIN8 Contains Two Independent Microtubule Association Domains
ABSTRACT Plant cells create a plasma membrane‐associated network of microtubules that are nucleated by γ‐tubulin ring complexes primarily through microtubule‐dependent microtubule nucleation (MDMN). This dynamic array organizes into specific patterns in response to developmental and environmental cues to influence primary cell wall construction.
