Pericardial Extramedullary Hematopoiesis Associated with Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of Gastrointestinal or Pancreaticobiliary Origin: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2023
Extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) is a rare complication of solid tumor malignancies. We describe the first case of a patient who developed EMH in the pericardium secondary to metastatic gastrointestinal or pancreaticobiliary cancer.

Myelomatous Pleural Effusion in a Relapse Plasmablastic Myeloma [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2021
Multiple myeloma is characterised by malignant proliferation of plasma cells in bone marrow with rare involvement of peripheral blood (plasma cell leukaemia). Sometimes tissue involvement (plasmacytoma) is also seen.

Evaluation of cytospin precision in low cellularity canine cerebrospinal fluid [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Diagnostic Investigation, 2016
The cell count and differential of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cytologic examination classify CSF as inflammatory or not. The cytospin cell yield is related to cell count, but to our knowledge a relationship has not been characterized and cytospin precision is undocumented in any species.

Use of panel of markers in serous effusion to distinguish reactive mesothelial cells from adenocarcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Cytology, 2019
Introduction: Although cytological examination helps in diagnosis of malignancy in serous effusion, at times it is difficult to differentiate atypical reactive mesothelial cells from adenocarcinoma (AC) cells.

Cytospin Centrifuge in Differential Counts of Milk Somatic Cells

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1982
A procedure was developed for a cytospin centrifuge to concentrate cells from milk onto microscope slides in a circle with 6 mm diameter. Differential somatic cell counts with cytospin were compared to the conventional hand smearing technique to ascertain variation in differential counts.

Somatic (CSS) and differential cell count (DCC) during a lactation period in ass’milk

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
Hypoallergenic properties of ass’s milk protein fractions have been recently con- firmed, allowing ass’s milk to be considered as a valid substitute of the available hypoallergenic infant formulas.
