The molecular structure and vibrational spectra of corrolazine metal complexes (CzM) by density functional theory

open access: yesSpectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2006
The ground-state geometries, electronic structures and vibrational frequencies of metal corrolazine complexes, CzM (M=Mn, Co, Ni and Fe) have been studied using B3LYP/6-311 g(d) method. The molecular geometries are sensitive to the species of the metal, and the bond length of the MN is increase with the metal atom radii.

XFEM-Based CZM for the Simulation of 3D Multiple-Cluster Hydraulic Fracturing in Quasi-Brittle Shale Formations [PDF]

open access: yesRock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 2016
The cohesive zone model (CZM) honors the softening effects and plastic zone at the fracture tip in a quasibrittle rock, e.g., shale, which results in amore precise fracture geometry and pumping pressure compared to those from linear elastic fracture ...

Study on Crack Development of Concrete Lining with Insufficient Lining Thickness Based on CZM Method

open access: yesMaterials, 2021
The most common structural defect of a tunnel in the operation period is the cracking of concrete lining. The insufficient thickness of tunnel lining is one of the main reasons for its cracking.

Methods and Tools to Support CZM

1999
Presently, a large number of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) programs are being implemented (Sorensen 1993) and successes and failures of some of these programs were evaluated in the Xiamen workshop. This has resulted in recommendations for good practices in the formulation.

The energy issue: A critical test for CZM

OCEAN 75 Conference, 1975
As national concern has increased over the gap between domestic energy supply and demand, private interests and federal and state governments have been actively involved in discussions aimed at determining how energy supplies can be increased without causing severe negative environmental and socio-economic impacts.

CZM in California: Successes and Challenges Ahead

Coastal Management, 2013
California has a forty-year history of successful coastal zone management. The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, the California Coastal Commission, and the State Coastal Conservancy have protected and made accessible hundreds of miles of shoreline.

Dynamic Crack Growth: Analytical and Numerical CZM Approaches

2008
Service life extension of PWR vessels is an important issue for a number of nuclear operators. This aim is partially subjected to improvement of safety margins. These margins may be enhanced by acceptance of a limited amount of crack growth, starting from an initial flaw.

A Thermodynamically Consistent CZM for Low-Cycle Fatigue Analysis

Key Engineering Materials, 2018
A cohesive zone model for low-cycle fatigue analysis is developed in a consistent thermodynamic framework of elastic-plastic-damage mechanics with internal variable. A specific fatigue activation condition allows to model the material degradation related to the elastic-plastic cyclic loading conditions, with tractions levels lower than the damage ...
