An Energy Autonomous Microneedle Array‐Based Sensing System for Continuous Biomarker Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an innovative self‐powered wearable biosensor system for real‐time monitoring of multiple biomarkers in interstitial fluid. The device integrates stainless steel‐based minimally invasive microneedles with ion‐selective membranes, enabling simultaneous Na+, K+, Ca2+, pH, and glucose detection.

K+‐Triggered Defect Engineering and Proton‐Coupled Storage in V2O5·nH2O for Advanced Zn‐Ion Thin‐Film and Microbatteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
K+ pre‐intercalation in V2O5·nH2O induces interlayer contraction, oxygen‐vacancy formation, and mixed‐valence states, activating defect‐mediated proton‐dominated transport. This enables cooperative H+/Zn2+ storage with enhanced kinetics and stability. The resulting Zn‐based thin‐film and microbatteries deliver high areal energy and capacity, offering a

Near‐Unity Selectivity Inversion Between CO2 Electroreduction and H2 Evolution via Atomic Coordination Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Atomic coordination editing functions as an on/off switch that toggles single‐atom catalysts between CO2 electroreduction and hydrogen evolution. ABSTRACT Precise atomic coordination editing of single‐atom catalysts (SACs) provides an effective strategy to tune their electronic structures and catalytic selectivity. Yet, achieving near‐unity selectivity

Photoelectric‐Coupled Ferroelectric Heterojunctions for Ultrahigh NO2 Sensing With Polarization‐Memory‐Assisted Interfacial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a Bi2WO6/SrBi2Ta2O9 heterojunction where light‐driven ferroelectric polarization reversal couples with persistent photoconductivity, enabling exclusive NO2 selective room‐temperature sensing. The device achieves a two‐order‐of‐magnitude sensitivity enhancement over an unpolarized device, a sub‐ppb detection limit, and robust ...

Effect of D-004, a Lipid Extract from the Cuban Royal Palm Fruit, on Atypical Prostate Hyperplasia Induced by Phenylephrine in Rats

open access: yesDrugs in R & D, 2006
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a non-malignant enlargement of the prostate that results in obstructive lower urinary tract symptoms. Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), the dwarf American palm (Arecaceae family), is commonly used to treat BPH. The Cuban royal palm (Roystonea regia) also belongs to the Arecaceae family, and 200-400mg of D-004, a lipid

Supercritical CO2‐Induced Porous MXene Films for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Infrared Stealth

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The phase transition of supercritical CO2 induces the foaming of dense MXene film without compromise inherent structure of MXene nanosheet. The foamed porous MXene film manifests remarkable EMI shielding and infrared thermal camouflage performances. Moreover, the foaming strategy is broadly adaptable and can be extended to other two‐dimensional films ...

A short stereoselective synthesis of (+)-(6R,2′S)-cryptocaryalactone via ring-closing metathesis

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
A short stereoselective synthesis of (+)-(6R,2′S)-cryptocaryalactone was successfully completed. Key steps included the application of Carreira’s asymmetric alkynylation reaction to form a propargylic alcohol and subsequently lactone formation using the ...

Effect of D-004, a Lipid Extract from??the Cuban Royal Palm Fruit, on In??Vitro and In Vivo Effects Mediated by????-Adrenoceptors in Rats

open access: yesDrugs in R & D, 2005
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the non-malignant, uncontrolled growth of glandular and stromal elements of the prostate gland. Lipid extracts from Saw palmetto (Arecaceae) fruits are widely used to treat BPH. The Cuban royal palm (Roystonea regia) is a member of the same family. Previous studies have found that D-004, a lipid extract from the R.

Inside‐Outside ROS Therapeutic Strategy Based on Piezoelectric Nano‐Urchin for Drug‐Resistant Bacteria Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The contribution of this study lies not only in enabling effective treatment of drug‐resistant biofilm infections, but also in establishing a transferable therapeutic paradigm: Ultrasound‐triggered mechanical forces synergistically enhance piezoelectric polarization and nanozyme activity, driving functional ROS generation inside and outside biofilms ...
