Momentum-resolved fingerprint of Mottness in layer-dimerized Nb3Br8

open access: yesNature Communications
Crystalline solids can become band insulators due to fully filled bands, or Mott insulators due to strong electronic correlations. While Mott insulators can theoretically occur in systems with an even number of electrons per unit cell, distinguishing ...

D-band PmP Evaluation Platform Definition

open access: yes, 2020
Deliverable 6.1 of H2020 project ULTRAWAVE describes the plans for the deployment of an evaluation platform for ULTRAWAVE’s project D-band (140 GHz) point to multipoint system, in the campus of the Universitat Politécnica de Valencia (Spain).

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Franck–Condon factors and observed band strength distribution in the vibrational structure of the Ag2 D-X band system [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2010
TPotential curves for the X1Sg+ and D1Su+ states of three diatomic silver isotopomers, 107Ag2, 107Ag109Ag and 109Ag2, were determined from the best available molecular constants by the Rydberg–Klein–Rees method.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A Validated High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography Method for Analyzing Fat-Soluble Vitamins in Commercial Pharmaceutical Preparations

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A simple, cost-effective, and efficient novel high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) tool was developed and validated in accordance with International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines for the detection and quantification of four ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

On the origin of inter band gap radiative emission in crystalline silicon

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
Crystal imperfections degrade the quality of multicrystalline silicon wafers by introducing alternative recombination mechanisms. Here we use non-destructive hyperspectral imaging to detect photoluminescence signals from radiatively active recombination ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
