A D-Band Waveguide-SIW Transition for 6G Applications [PDF]
In this work, a design of a transition from a standard D-band waveguide to substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology is presented for 6G applications. The waveguide is connected to an SIW by carving a slot at the bottom metal of the printed circuit

Transition metal d-band occupancy in skutterudites studied by electron energy-loss spectroscopy [PDF]
The transition-metal 3d occupancy of a series of thermoelectric skutterudites is investigated using electron energy-loss spectroscopy. We find that bonding causes an emptying of the 3d states in the binary skutterudites CoP3, CoAs3, CoSb3, and NiP3 ...

Transmission of 4096-QAM OFDM at D-band
We experimentally demonstrate the transmission of multi-order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) millimeter wave signals at D-band. Meanwhile, the system nonlinearity analysis is also given, which is originated from the unsatisfactory optoelectronic devices, multi-order QAM and the high peak-to ...

Colloidal CuFeS2 Nanocrystals: Intermediate Fe d-Band Leads to High Photothermal Conversion Efficiency [PDF]
We describe the colloidal hot-injection synthesis of phase-pure nanocrystals (NCs) of a highly abundant mineral, chalcopyrite (CuFeS2). Absorption bands centered at around 480 and 950 nm, spanning almost the entire visible and near infrared regions ...

Indoor Radio Channel Modeling at D-Band Frequencies
This paper presents indoor radio channel measurements and models at D-band frequencies. A Line-of-Sight (LOS) alpha-beta-gamma path loss model is created based on indoor measurements up to 8.5 m in a laboratory and office room, resulting in a floating intercept alpha of 34.2 dB, PL exponent beta 1.9 and frequency dependency gamma 1.9.

Correlation between topological band character and chemical bonding in a $\mathbf{Bi_{14}Rh_{3}I_{9}}$-based family of insulators [PDF]
Recently the presence of topologically protected edge-states in Bi$_{14}$Rh$_3$I$_9$ was confirmed by scanning tunnelling microscopy consolidating this compound as a weak 3D topological insulator (TI).

Distinct topological properties in Ce monopnictides having correlated f electrons: CeN vs. CeBi
The hitherto-studied topological nature in Ce monopnictides (CePn) has been discussed based solely on their p-d band inversion, despite the existence of f electrons.

DFT study on ORR catalyzed by bimetallic Pt-skin metals over substrates of Ir, Pd and Au
Bimetallic Pt-skin catalyst is a class of near-surface alloy (NSA) that owns a high degree of control over composition. Herein, density functional theory (DFT) is used to calculate the energetics of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on Pt-skin over Ir, Pd ...

D-Band Perfect Anomalous Reflectors for 6G Applications
We demonstrate anomalous reflectors at 140 GHz for the application of 6G communication coverage expansion. The reflectors are designed on cyclo-olefin polymer (COP) substrates on the basis of measured complex permittivity and conductivity at millimeter ...
