The two faces of T-branes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We establish a brane-brane duality connecting T-branes to collections of ordinary D-branes. T-branes are intrinsically non-Abelian brane configurations with worldvolume flux, whereas their duals consist of Abelian brane systems that encode the T-brane ...

Unveiling Cell‐Type‐Specific Immune Reactions in Human Blood Following Varied Fruit and Vegetable Blends Interventions

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
Paired peripheral‐blood RNA‐seq from MiBLEND was deconvolved with CIBERSORTx to profile leukocyte composition and cell‐type‐specific transcriptomic responses to seven fruit‐and‐vegetable blends. Deconvolution yielded 22 leukocyte subtypes that correlated with laboratory WBC reports (R = 0.886, p ≤ 0.01).

When D-branes break

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2006
We analyze the possible configurations of D-branes breaking on other D-branes. We describe these configurations in the context of a brane-antibrane effective theory in two ways. First as a tachyon configuration representing a non-trivial bundle over the sphere surrounding the end of the brane a la Polchinski, and second in terms of tachyon solitons ...

Quantifying the contribution of community trait mean and diversity to ecosystem functioning

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Hundreds of experiments conducted over the last decades demonstrate a positive relationship between species diversity and ecosystem functions. Following good experimental practice, most of these studies have manipulated species richness artificially by assembling communities randomly. Yet, natural communities along ecological gradients often show niche‐

Backreacting D-brane instantons on branes at singularities

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Non-perturbative D-brane instanton effects in 4d N = 1 $$ \mathcal{N}=1 $$ string compactifications can be geometrized in terms of a backreacted generalized geometry. We extend earlier results to setups in which the D-brane instanton is charged under the

Populism and policy capacity: Evidence from an opposition municipality in Istanbul

open access: yesPublic Administration and Development, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite achievements in its conceptual rigor, policy capacity still represents a relatively depoliticized concept that fails to sufficiently consider the ways in which politics plays a role in its creation, mobilization, or decay. This article seeks to contribute to this debate by investigating the impact of populism on policy capacity, the ...

The Impact of Public Administration Education on Individual Policy Capacity of Federal Civil Servants in Ethiopia

open access: yesPublic Administration and Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent decades, policy capacity has garnered increasing attention from scholars in the Global North. However, there has been limited focus on policy capacity in developing countries, particularly in Africa. While various factors, such as experience, the nature of policy tasks, and educational background, can influence the policy capacity of
