Cathode porosity is a missing key parameter to optimize lithium-sulfur battery energy density
For high-energy lithium-sulfur batteries, a dense electrode with low porosity is desired to minimize electrolyte intake, parasitic weight, and cost. Here the authors show the impact of porosity on the performance of lithium-sulfur batteries and reveal ...

Notes on D‑optimal Spring Balance Weighing Designs
Spring balance weighing design is a model of an experiment in which the result can be presented as a linear combination of unknown measurements of objects with factors of this combination equalling zero or one. In this paper, we assume that the variances

D-Optimal Design for Network A/B Testing [PDF]
A/B testing refers to the statistical procedure of conducting an experiment to compare two treatments, A and B, applied to different testing subjects. It is widely used by technology companies such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Netflix, to compare different algorithms, web-designs, and other online products and services.

D-Optimal Design for a Causal Structure for Completely Randomized and Random Blocked Experiments
Most experimental design literature on causal inference focuses on establishing a causal relationship between variables, but there is no literature on how to identify a design that results in the optimal parameter estimates for a structural equation ...

On the number of D-optimal designs
The main result of the paper is the theorem: For \(n=18\), there are precisely three essentially different matrices with elements \(\pm 1\) having the maximum determinant. Only one of these is of the circulant type, but all are of the skew type. This means that there are three \(D\)-optimal designs for \(n=18\).

Vitamin D: A comprehensive review [PDF]
Vitamin D (calciferol), i.e. its active metabolite calcitriol [1,25(OH)2D], apart from essential participation in calcium and phosphorus homeostasis, is an important factor in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis ...
