Acoustic and thermodynamic study of D-Panthenol in aqueous solutions of glycol at different temperatures

Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2018
Abstract The interaction of EG, DEG and TEG with biologically active D-Panthenol, as the function of temperature has been investigated by the combination of acoustic and volumetric methods. Speeds of sound and densities of EG, DEG and TEG in (0.05, 0.10 and 0.15) mol·kg−1 in aqueous solutions of D-Panthenol have been measured at T = (293.15, 298.15 ...

Interaction of D-panthenol with water molecules – Experimental and computational study

Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2018
© 2017 Elsevier Ltd Physicochemical properties and nature of the interactions in {D-panthenol + H2O} mixtures have been investigated measuring density and viscosity over the whole composition range in the temperature range from T = (293.15 to 313.15) K at atmospheric pressure (p = 1·105 Pa).

De novo biosynthesis of D-panthenol in engineered E. coli with rationally designed L-homoserine decarboxylase

Metabolic Engineering
D-panthenol is a compound of significant importance in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and nutraceutical sectors, attributed to its remarkable moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and tissue repair properties. Traditional chemical synthesis encounters several challenges, including the generation of toxic by-products, low enantiomeric excess, and expensive ...

Evaluation of the ultrasound influence in the cutaneous penetration of d‐panthenol: test in vitro

Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2005
SummaryBackground  d‐panthenol is a popular additive in cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations. However, in order for this vitamin to provide skin benefits, it must penetrate the stratum corneum. Objective  To verify the penetrability of d‐panthenol in the skin and evaluate the effect of ultrasound on the cutaneous penetration of this vitamin. Methods

Kinetics and mechanism of uncatalysed and ruthenium(III)-catalysed oxidation of d-panthenol by alkaline permanganate

Transition Metal Chemistry, 2009
The oxidation of d-panthenol by MnO4− was studied in the absence and in the presence of ruthenium(III) catalyst in alkaline medium at 298 K and at constant ionic strength of 0.50 mol dm−3 by spectrophotometry. The stoichiometry in both the cases was [panthenol]: [MnO4−] = 1:4. The oxidation products were identified by IR and GC–MS.
