D-penicillamine induced status dystonicus is a unique but serious drug related complication in a subset of patients with Wilson disease. Patho-physiological basis of its occurrence is not known. It often responds poorly to anti dystonia medications.

Double blind controlled trial of D-penicillamine in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis.

One hundred and eighty nine patients with primary biliary cirrhosis were entered into a double blind, placebo controlled randomised trial starting in January 1978 to assess the therapeutic value of d-penicillamine 1200 mg daily.
