Sweet Potato Gene Clusters Control Anthocyanin Biosynthesis and Leaf Morphology

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) exhibits diversity in pigmentation and leaf morphology, yet the genetic architecture and regulatory organisation underlying these traits remain poorly resolved, particularly with respect to organ‐specific control.

Targeted herbicide spraying systems: role of nozzle type, number of nozzle activation, nozzle orientation, and boom height on spray coverage and weed control

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 6, Page 5216-5224, June 2026.
Targeted herbicide application technology performance depends on sprayer configuration. Across five studies, activation of multiple, overlapping nozzles and maintaining appropriate boom height consistently improved spray coverage and weed control, highlighting the importance of optimized sprayer setup for effective and reliable weed control.

Plant‐mediated interactions between specialist insect herbivores of Melaleuca quinquenervia: Implications for management of invasive populations

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 2, April/June 2026.
The gall forming herbivores Lophodiplosis trifida and L. indentata reduced the growth of M. quinquenervia, with L. trifida exerting a stronger suppressive effect than L. indentata. The addition of L. trifida enhanced the negative impact of L. indentata on plant growth, whereas the presence of L. indentata did not affect the impacts of L. trifida.

Evaluation of single versus multiple site of action preemergence herbicides for waterhemp and giant ragweed control in Wisconsin soybean

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract The use of preemergence (PRE) herbicides with soil residual activity is recognized as an effective strategy for early‐season weed management in Midwest US soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] production. The efficacy of soybean PRE herbicides with single and multiple sites of action (SOAs), including acetolactate synthase (ALS), photosystem II ...
