Harnessing Natural Compounds in Psoriasis: Targeting Cellular Pathways for Effective Therapy

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
Natural compounds act on key cellular pathways in psoriasis by suppressing keratinocyte hyperproliferation, modulating Th17/IL‐17‐mediated immune responses, and reducing oxidative stress. These multi‐target effects highlight their potential as safer adjunctive therapies alongside conventional treatments.

Introducing non‐Gaussian observation errors into incremental variational data assimilation methods

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
We propose a new method, called the evolving‐Gaussian method, to incorporate non‐Gaussian observation error into data assimilation methods that use Gauss–Newton‐based outer loops. The key idea is to approximate the gradient of the non‐Gaussian cost function locally by using a chosen Gaussian cost function during the minimization.

The role of orography in convection initiation over Hainan Island

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Up‐mountain‐directed buoyancy forcing owing to diurnal heating is responsible for the stronger updraft and more favorable thermodynamic conditions for deep convection initiation in the lee of mountains on Hainan Island. The buoyancy opposes the pressure gradient force (PGF) on the windward slope, promoting more low‐level windward ascent, and it phases ...

Taxonomic and Functional Structure of Benthic and Terrestrial Invertebrates During Wet and Dry Phases of an Intermittent River Within Central Italy

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Temporary rivers and streams are characterized by flow cessation and support high biodiversity of both aquatic and terrestrial species. In this study, we analyzed biological and ecological traits of benthic invertebrates to assess the ecological resilience and resistance of an intermittent river in Central Italy.

Patent Systems and Carbon Dioxide Emissions: Short and Long Run Perspectives on Economic Development and Sustainability

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explores the relationship between patent system strength and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions across 46 developed and developing countries from 1998 to 2017 using Fixed Effects (FE) and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) models. The findings reveal that stronger patent regimes in developed countries are initially associated with ...

The Roles of Civil Society Associations in Organising the Informal Circular Economy

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A circular economy (CE) transition requires more than technological innovation and market‐based solutions. It demands a circular society that values informal repair, reuse and sharing practices. This study investigates how civil society associations (CSAs) support such practices in an industrialised setting.

Who gets redeployed? Inventor characteristics and resource redeployment decisions

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary While the literature highlights the benefits of internally redeploying resources, there is less empirical guidance on which resources are most likely to be redeployed. We examine the relationship between inventor characteristics and redeployment decisions, motivated by the tension between costs and benefits of keeping a ...

High flying adored: How CEO narcissism influences firms' responses to above‐aspiration performance with risky organizational change

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Research on performance feedback presents conflicting views on how above‐aspiration performance influences organizational change. Some studies argue that it constrains change due to a lack of organizational motivation, while others suggest that it enables change by expanding managerial discretion.
