Combs, Fast and Slow: Non‐Adiabatic Mean‐Field Theory of Active Cavities

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A unified mean‐field theory is developed that describes active cavities with dynamics of any speed, whether they be fast, slow, or anything in between. By creating an operator‐based framework that makes no adiabatic approximation, this approach delivers more efficient simulations and new analytical insights for a wide range of integrated combs, such as

Coopetition in for-profit and non-profit organizations - micro level

open access: yesManagement, 2019
A situation in which appears at the same time a competition and cooperation between the subjects is defined as a coopetition. First of all it is considered at the mezo level – between the companies, but it can be analysed at the micro level – inside the ...

Separation of Coupled Systems of Schrodinger Equations by Darboux transformations

open access: yes, 2011
Darboux transformations in one independent variable have found numerous applications in various field of mathematics and physics. In this paper we show that the extension of these transformations to two dimensions can be used to decouple systems of ...

Failure analysis of angle‐ply thin woven GFRP composites under low‐velocity impact and low‐temperature

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Abstract A comprehensive experimental and analytical study was conducted on quasi‐isotropic woven glass fiber‐reinforced polymer composites with a stacking sequence of [0°/±45°/90°]s, under low‐velocity impact at a low temperature of −50 °C. The results were compared to those at room temperature.

Comparison of analytical and finite element solutions for monitoring the self‐generated temperature in the fatigue test of novel continuous glass fiber‐reinforced Elium thermoplastic composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Illustration of the three methods of investigating temperature increases during the fatigue test of continuous glass fiber reinforced Elium thermoplastic composite materials. Abstract There is an increasing trend toward thermoplastic matrix composites in the automotive industry, and the most significant damage type is owing to fatigue. A set of fatigue

The Influence of Quantum Critical Fluctuations of Circulating Current Order Parameters on the Normal State Properties of Cuprates

open access: yes, 2001
We study a model of the quantum critical point of cuprates associated with the "circulating current" order parameter proposed by Varma. An effective action of the order parameter in the quantum disordered phase is derived using functional integral method,

Tuning the Diameter of Supramolecular Nanocylinders: Balancing Long and Short Polymer Arms for Optimized Self‐Assembly

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Polymer arms decorated with hydrogen bonding stickers form supramolecular nanocylinders in solution. Their diameter can be tuned by mixing polymers of different lengths to optimize assembly. Short polymer arms lead to thin nanocylinders. Long arms do not assemble.

Deformed Minkowski spaces: clasification and properties

open access: yes, 1995
Using general but simple covariance arguments, we classify the `quantum' Minkowski spaces for dimensionless deformation parameters. This requires a previous analysis of the associated Lorentz groups, which reproduces a previous classification by ...

How Do Firms Form Their Expectations? New Survey Evidence

open access: yesThe American Economic Review, 2015
We survey New Zealand firms and document novel facts about their macroeconomic beliefs. There is widespread dispersion in beliefs about past and future macroeconomic conditions, especially inflation.

The role of identification in data‐driven policy iteration: A system theoretic study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
Abstract The goal of this article is to study fundamental mechanisms behind so‐called indirect and direct data‐driven control for unknown systems. Specifically, we consider policy iteration applied to the linear quadratic regulator problem. Two iterative procedures, where data collected from the system are repeatedly used to compute new estimates of ...
