Separation of D2EHPA and M2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 1988
Abstract D2EHPA and M2EHPA were separated using selective precipitation and solvent extraction. When the precipitation technique was employed. M2EHPA was precipitated as its barium salt from the mixture, followed by regeneration of the alkyl phosphoric acids by contacting each component separately with acid.

Kinetics of VO2+ extraction by D2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 2003
Abstract The kinetics of the forward extraction of VO2+ from sulphate–acetate medium by di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid (D2EHPA) in toluene has been investigated with Hahn and Lewis cell techniques using both (rate/area) or, pseudo-rate constant (q) and flux (F) methods for data treatment.

A rapid titrimetric determination of D2EHPA and M2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 1993
Abstract The use of impure D2EHPA in solvent extraction of metal ions leads to many process problems. Analysis of the quality of D2EHPA before use is warranted. The titrimetric estimation of D2EHPA containing M2EHPA of various samples in 50% (v/v) aqueous ethanol was studied using visual colour indicators. Bromophenol blue, methyl orange, methyl red,

Kinetics of Mn(II) extraction by D2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 2003
Abstract The kinetics of forward extraction of Mn(II) from 0.1 M SO42− medium by di-(2-ethyl hexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) solution in kerosene have been investigated by the Lewis (L.C.) and Hahn cell (H.C.) techniques. For kinetic data treatment, both pseudo-rate constant, ‘q’ or ‘rate/area’ and flux, ‘F’ methods have been applied.

Extraction of macro- and microamounts of lanthanides by D2EHPA

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1990
The effect of macroconcentration (Ma) lanthanide extraction on the microcomponent (Mi) extraction by D2EHPA was investigated. The investigation corroborated that the macrocomponent suppresses the microcomponent extraction. The extractability of Mi decreases with increasing Ma concentration and with increasing proton lanthanide number in ...

The separation of manganese from cobalt by D2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 1984
Abstract The separation of manganese from cobalt in sulphate solution by D2EHPA diluted with kerosene is reported. Manganese can be separated by controlling the aqueous and organic pH in the neighborhood of 4.2 and 2.0, respectively. A continuous separation process is proposed.

On the kinetics of rare-earth extraction into D2EHPA

Chemical Engineering Science, 1999
Abstract Extraction kinetics of rare-earth elements (La 3+ , Ce 3+ , Pr 3+ , Nd 3+ , Eu 3+ ) in nitric acid, thiocyanate and formate into D2EHPA (bis-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid ester, 0.05 kmol m -3 ) is studied in a stirred cell at pH=2.1. Extraction rate is found to be limited by diffusion.

Interfacial tension studies on the extraction of lanthanum by d2ehpa

Hydrometallurgy, 1986
Abstract Values of interfacial tension can be useful in providing an insight into interfacial behaviour for immiscible liquids. Changes of interfacial tension during extraction for the system La(NO 3 ) 3 —D2EHPA—diluents are reported. The selected parameters which can affect the change of interfacial tension are aqueous pH and aromatic and aliphatic ...
