Droplet phenomena in the Ni/Na/D2EHPA/H2O system

Metallurgical Transactions B, 1977
Droplet behavior in the liquid-liquid extraction of nickel by mixtures of the sodium and hydrogen forms of di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid in toluene is reported. Mass transfer to single drops of organic phase dispersed in the aqueous has been measured.

A membrane process to recover extractant D2EHPA in aqueous phase

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2008
A membrane adsorption–extraction process to recover di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (D2EHPA) from the raffinate is developed, i.e. a hollow fiber membrane extraction module, in which raffinate flows in the tube side and n-heptane used as the “extractant” flows in the shell side. The emulsion with D2EHPA, n-heptane and Triton X-114 was used as the simulated

Investigation of the influence of acetate ions on cadmium extraction with D2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 2014
Abstract In this paper, effect of acetate ions on cadmium solvent extraction with di-2-ethyl hexyl phosphoric acid, D2EHPA, in kerosene as diluent has been investigated. Infrared spectroscopy and slope analysis methods were used to determine metal–organic complex and reaction stoichiometry respectively.

REE Extraction with D2EHPA Solution Using a Microcontactor

Теоретические основы химической технологии / Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Engineering
The development of high-intensity extractors operating in the pre-emulsion regime is a promising task in the field of - and -element extraction. In this work, a microcontactor is presented in which it is possible to extract 20% REEs from the initially taken amount in 34 s of phase contact.

Separation of Ni and Co by D2EHPA in the Presence of Citrate Ion

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B, 2017
Recycling processes for the recovery of metallic content from the electronic wastes are environmentally friendly and economical. This paper reports a method for the recovery and separation of Ni and Co from the sulfate solution by the use of D2EHPA. In this regard, the influence of citrate ion, as a carboxylate ligand, was examined in the separation ...

Investigation of mass transfer on single droplets for the reactive extraction of zinc with D2EHPA

AIChE Journal, 2011
AbstractInvestigations of mass transfer behavior with the standard test system of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) for the reactive extraction zinc + D2EHPA (di(2‐ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid) were carried out. Experiments were performed with single droplets in a mass transfer cell on lab‐scale. In the experiments, contact time for

Transient modeling of zinc extraction with D2EHPA in a Kühni column

Chemical Engineering Research and Design, 2013
Abstract The transient extraction of zinc sulfate with D2EHPA (di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid) in a section of a Kuhni column operated with total recirculation of liquid phases was modeled using the back-mixing and the forward-mixing approaches. The mathematical developments for both models as well as their numerical solutions are given in detail ...

The role of kinetics in the extraction of zinc with D2EHPA in a packed column

Hydrometallurgy, 2006
Abstract The role of kinetics of extraction in the design of extraction equipment is becoming more important with the move to reduce organic inventories and phase residence times. This paper examines the influence of the kinetics of ZnSO4 extraction into di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) in Shellsol 2046 in a 100 mm diameter, 1 m tall column ...

Reductive stripping in vacuum of Fe(III) from D2EHPA

Hydrometallurgy, 2000
The iron stripping from di(-2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) constitutes a problem in hydrometallurgical processes: whereas Fe(III) is easily extracted along with other elements such as zinc or cadmium, it is hard to strip it from the organic phase.

Solvent Extraction of Copper Using TBP, D2EHPA and MIBK

Russian Journal of Non-Ferrous Metals, 2018
In this research, a synergetic system of solvent extraction process was developed to recover copper from aqueous solutions with tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP), di-2-ethyl hexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) and methyl iso-butyl ketone (MIBK). The effect of significant parameters such as pH, organic phase composition, aqueous to organic phase ratio (A : O ...
