Equivalent homogeneous model of D31-mode longitudinal piezoelectric transducers

Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2017
This article focuses on modelling of D31-mode longitudinal piezoelectric transducers. A simple equivalent one-dimensional homogeneous model of D31-mode longitudinal piezoelectric transducers is proposed in this article. Homogeneous properties of the model are derived by a simple analytical mixing method based on the operation principle of D31-mode ...

A novel aureothin diepoxide derivative from Streptomyces sp. NIIST-D31 strain

The Journal of Antibiotics, 2022
A novel vicinal diepoxide of alloaureothin was isolated from Streptomyces sp. NIIST-D31 strain along with three carboxamides, p-aminobenzoic acid and 1,6-dimethoxyphenazine. Exhaustive 2D NMR analysis and analysis of experimental, theoretical CD spectra aided in establishing the structure of compound 1. Compound 1 inhibits adipogenesis and accumulation

Simulating the Effects of Porosity on the D31 Piezoelectric Coefficient of Polyvinylidene Fluoride

ASME 2022 Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems, 2022
Abstract A piezoelectric, thin film polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) material was developed for application as a blood pressure/flow sensor within an artificial heart. In an effort to increase the piezoelectric coefficient, d31, and maximize the sensitivity of the PVDF material, nanoscale pores were introduced into the thin films.

An Attempt to Topology Optimize 3D Printed Piezoelectric Composite Sensors for Highest D31 Output

ASME 2021 Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems, 2021
Abstract By adopting topology optimization based on numerical solvers, the geometries of the piezoelectric sensors can be optimized to produce higher electrical output in a certain loading directions. 2D topology optimization and simulation studies are carried out with ANSYS using Piezo and MEMS extensions for coupled systems.

Simulations, fabrication, and characterization of d31 mode piezoelectric vibration energy harvester

Microsystem Technologies, 2019
This paper presents the development work on d31 mode piezoelectric vibration energy harvester. The device structure consists of a fixed-free type cantilever beam with a seismic mass attached at the free end of the beam. On top of the cantilever beam, a ZnO piezoelectric layer is sandwiched between two metal electrodes.

Temperature behavior of the complex piezoelectric d31 coefficient in modified lead titanate ceramics

Materials Letters, 1986
Piezoelectric properties of modified lead titanate ceramics were investigated in an effort to explain the large electromechanical anisotropy observed in these materials. While the thickness coupling factor is approximately constant with temperature, the planar coupling factor becomes zero near room temperature, probably indicating a change in sign of ...

d31 Type inplane bending multilayer piezoelectric microactuators—a design concept and its applications

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2002
Abstract A design concept for multilayer piezoelectric microactuator using piezoelectric coefficient d 31 was particularly stressed. Accordingly, two kinds of novel piezoelectric multilayer microactuators, called a split-morph and an annular split-morph, have been proposed and discussed for the dual stage actuation systems in high track density ...

Low frequency PVDF piezoelectric energy harvester with combined d31 and d33 operating modes

The 8th Annual IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, 2013
This paper reports the design, test and application of a novel low frequency piezoelectric energy harvester. To achieve high output voltage at low frequency, both d31 and d33 modes of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) are utilized in this device. Output voltage of the device are tested under different frequencies and accelerations.
