A Wagner–Meerwein‐Like Rearrangement Generates a Vinyl Group in the Biosynthesis of the Polychlorinated Lipopeptides Fischerazoles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The fischerazoles, unusual cyanobacterial chlorinated lipopeptides are reported. During their biosynthesis, a linear fatty acyl‐acyl carrier protein (ACP) precursor is rearranged through the action of the S‐adenosyl‐methionine (SAM)‐dependent methyltransferase FshF, to generate a pendant vinyl group.

Labour Supply and Inequality Effects of In-Work Benefits: Evidence from Serbia

open access: yesNaše Gospodarstvo, 2019
Low labour market participation, together with the high effective tax wedge at low wage levels, create a fertile ground for the introduction of the in-work benefits (IWB) in Serbia.

Job duration and inequality

open access: yesEconomics: Journal Articles, 2020
As suggested by recent empirical evidence, one of the causes behind the widespread rise of inequality experienced by OECD countries in the last few decades may have been the increased flexibility of labor markets.

Testing and Simulation of Multilayer Polyvinylidene Fluoride‐Based Piezoelectric Energy Harvester Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The study considers the use of polymer/dielectric‐based multilayers piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (EH) to produce an output voltage and current, by exploiting the mechanical energy provided by human organs movements. In particular, the heart motion is considered from the kinematic viewpoint, and a multiphysics theoretical model is developed to assess

Iron supplementation for lambs experimentally infected by Haemonchus contortus: response to anemia and iron store in the bone marrow

open access: yesPesquisa Veterinária Brasileira
: To evaluate the effect of supplementation of iron dextran on blood variables and iron metabolism in lambs experimentally infected by Haemonchus contortus, four experimental groups were used: uninfected and non-supplemented animals (GI); infected ...

Interlayer‐Sliding‐Enabled Multiferroicity and Giant Switchable Anomalous Hall Conductivity in RuO2Zn2F2 Bilayer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interlayer sliding in the RuO2Zn2F2 bilayer induces ferroelectricity and enables reversible valley polarization switching. The electric dipole and valley‐resolved band edges are intimately coupled, revealing sliding ferroelectricity as a powerful mechanism for electrical control of valley degrees of freedom in 2D materials.

Differences in the Income Distribution of Households Run by Men and Women by Voivodeships

open access: yesFolia Oeconomica Stetinensia, 2020
Research background: Household income depends on its demographic composition, age and education of its members, place of residence and many other factors. In our work, we concentrate on the income distribution of Polish households.

Wavelength‐Dependent Photobiomodulation Regulates Macrophage Polarization via Mitochondrial Dynamics and Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light wavelength encodes distinct macrophage fates through mitochondrial and metabolic remodeling. Red 625 nm irradiation induces glycolysis, mitochondrial fission, and M1 polarization, whereas near‐infrared 850 nm irradiation promotes fatty acid oxidation, mitochondrial fusion, and M2 polarization.

Chemoselective Metabolomics via a Modular Reactivity‐Encoding Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional LC–MS underrepresents numerous metabolites due to heterogeneous ionization efficiencies and matrix interference. Here, we introduce a modular reactivity‐encoding platform (MREP) comprising four alkyne‐tagged probes that selectively derivatize key functional groups, followed by unified click‐chemistry capture to eliminate matrix components ...
