Norepinephrine Activates Dopamine D4 Receptors in the Rat Lateral Habenula

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience, 2015
The lateral habenula (LHb) is involved in reward and aversion and is reciprocally connected with dopamine (DA)-containing brain regions, including the ventral tegmental area (VTA).

Fluorescent Nanosensor for Indole‐3‐Propionic Acid Detection in Gut Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a fluorescent nanosensor system with two optical modalities for detection of indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA) gut metabolite: (1) blue‐emitting cationic conjugated polyelectrolyte (CP3) and (2) near‐infrared (NIR)‐emitting CP3‐wrapped single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWNT).

Baryon charge from embedding topology and a continuous meson spectrum in a new holographic gauge theory

open access: yes, 2010
We study a new holographic gauge theory based on probe D4-branes in the background dual to D4-branes on a circle with antiperiodic boundary conditions for fermions.

D-branes in Massive IIA and Solitons in Chern-Simons Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We investigate D2-branes and D4-branes parallel to D8-branes. The low energy world volume theory on the branes is non-supersymmetric Chern-Simons theory.

Plasma‐Sequence‐Engineered Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin SiNx for Enhanced Etching Resistance in Extreme Ultraviolet Pellicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Plasma‐sequence‐engineered ALD (PSE‐ALD), based on sequential NH3 and N2 plasma pulses, enables ultrathin, dense SiNx films. ToF‐MS analysis confirms ligand removal via HCl evolution, while increased film density indicates network densification. The resulting SiNx coating provides robust protection of graphite under H2 plasma exposure.

Two-dimensional crystal melting and D4-D2-D0 on toric Calabi-Yau singularities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We construct a two-dimensional crystal melting model which reproduces the BPS index of D2-D0 states bound to a non-compact D4-brane on an arbitrary toric Calabi-Yau singularity.

Gold Nanorods in Cardiac Millitissues: Assessing Mechanical and Contractile Dynamics in a Living Engineering Myocardium Model

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel platform for assessing the active mechanical behavior of living cardiac microbundles through localized nanoindentation, integrated with temperature regulation and dual‐camera imaging systems. The developed system enables quantitative evaluation of dynamic micromechanics in engineered cardiac tissues in vitro, offering ...

$$D=4$$ D=4 supergravity from the Maxwell-Weyl superalgebra

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
We present the construction of the first-order $$D=4$$ D=4 , $${\mathcal {N}}=1$$ N=1 supergravity action by gauging the Maxwell-Weyl superalgebra.
